Being gay in this world,
in this contry,
in this state,
in this city is not easy.
Everyday struggling
for respect and acceptance.
Yet it it seems like
on every corner there's someone who
can't wait to remind

how different I am.

It's not easy.
It's not when I run to the church
for answers, to only find rejection.
The same place that could have saved many lives
also labeled AIDS the Gay Disease.
While millions of children live parentless.

When I am constantly told
