"Simohgi, can you tell me why Madam Sinclair is still running my household? Acadia is fine now."

"I can't be your watcher anymore."

"Why not?"

Because I'm not good enough. "I broke a rule."

"We've been breaking rules. And you were never supposed to be my watcher. Why are they doing something now?"

"Because I gave Acadia a potion to fix the strained dynamic."

"That's it? Madam Sinclair is MCC-ing needs non-stop. I haven't slept in days. The toddlers are talking like adults -"

"That's part of the plan. They want Theo to be a super sim or something. And they want you with Luna..."

"Villareal? I came to Windenburg to keep my wife, not to lose her."

"You already lost her, Walks. They messed with her essence. The happy moodlets are lies. Her entire UI is useless. If I don't dictate her every move, she'll be back to yelling at you and ignoring the kids. Madam Sinclair is just there to give The Cube the dramatic exit they want with Acadia. A simple click-divorce is not good enough."

"You don't have a choice."

OMNI's logs: Goril [UU-001-002]: In my day, no pixel puppet could command OMNI. The Omniscient One must explain why you 143ers and your puppets can cause so much trouble. Simgale [SS-143-006]: The Omniscient One explains themselves to no one. And my Lunds are not puppets. If you 001s would evolve past base game, maybe you'd 'get away' with your sims thinking for themselves, too.

"The incompetent watcher next to you talks too much, pixel pawn. Even if the architect existed, you cannot meet them.

So I suggest you leave and never try this stunt again."

"I'm sorry Walker but Goril is right. We cannot let you meet any sim or servo above our level. However, you've managed to get my daughter up here. I didn't think she had it in her! So I'll allow one question about fate."

"Are you insane?"

"Be quiet, Goril." My mother also gets into a lot of trouble with HR.

"What's the right question to ask, Simohgi?"

"I don't know! Everything with Acadia felt right until you guys. You and Desiree and - Oh!" Walks and Desi did not spend their formative sim-years with me... "What type of childhood are you trying to give Theo, mum?"

"Are you sure that's your question?"

It had to be! Koa and Acadia were mine from the beginning and they're the ones that are broken. I didn't raise them right. They want my mom and Luna to do a better job with Walker's kids. "Yes! Tell me what you want him to learn. I can replicate the lessons and keep the family together. Even if Acadia is broken-"

"She's not broken."

"I'm sorry. She's not broken. But if you tell me the end goal for Theo instead of random prompts for Acadia, I can make it happen!

I'll keep the Duke-Lunds in tact and make sure Theo becomes who you want him to be. Would that work?"

Chapter 1.5

"Girl, I love you but you're making this harder than it needs to be. It's just an outline." Zuri is the most well-rounded storytelling watcher in our tribe. I could spend days in CAS and build mode and my sims and builds would still have no personality. She would spend an hour or two and you could take one look and know exactly what type of life The Cube told her to create. She'd be an even higher ranking watcher at The Frame but she refuses to give up gameplay because The Cube 'does not put enough complex black love into the universe.'

"It's not as easy as you make it seem, Zuri. Jason wants -"

"Who cares what Jason wants right now? Unless it's to release Valentina from her misery. Is he done being a wannabe Lothario? I need you get his life in order before they turn Ximena into the one that has to 'fix' him. You know they'll do it."

"I know! And he's done. He got an unchallenged buff a while ago. So we worked on servos but then he got a small performance loss at work and ..."

"You let him quit? What is it with your sims and quitting things? Are they getting that from you?

It must be you. I keep forgetting that you're Kaiso's daughter."

"What is that supposed to mean?" I already know what it means. My father is stuck in Sulani in a Savefile because of what that means...

"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have said that. Please don't tell Ravi I said that. He's grumpy enough with us these days because of all that's going on with you. You soulmates and your mind-reading can be really annoying."

"Ravi can control his. He shuts me out a lot. So, I don't know what you're talking about."

"Well, do you control yours? You don't, do you? So you're probably just dumping on him and -"

"Why does it feel like you're attacking me today? I don't like it."

Zuri is my best friend but sometimes she reminds me of my mother with her frankness. "The Cullings are getting tougher, Moji."

"I know."

"Ravi needs to be focused. And you need to be tougher. On your sims and on yourself. And I don't mean beat yourself up. I mean - whatever... I'm not good at this hand holding stuff. You should ask Candace for help next time."

Chapter 1.1

In Meta-Simulation 143, a soulmate is the sole sim who would be able to read your mind. But this feature cannot be unlocked until after a bonding ceremony. When my best friend accepted the terms and conditions of our bonding agreement, his thoughts flooded my mind instantly. "It's worth the risk. It has to be Moji. It has to be her. What? I knew it! Yeah, boy! Ent ah tell yuh? Ah tell yuh! Never doubted it for a second." I laughed out loud because I was looking at his face from the other side of the room and he looked indifferent. My side of the family looked concerned until we approached each other at the bride and groom's table and he pulled me and kissed me even though it was against protocol. Simravi never goes against protocol.

We entered Watcher Academy as bonded teens and became watchers together. It was a dream come true. Until my sim-essence started causing trouble in sim-year 1002. Too many prompts from The Cube started to feel wrong. As the sim-years go by, it keeps getting worse.

"Yuh shoulda hear how mum was talking, Simravi. She prepared this whole speech and a list of all the things she thinks I did wrong with Acadia. Then she said I should have never let Kades have Walks in the first place. That my shallow families are no match for a dynasty sim. But Walker wanted her, I had no choice!"

Agree to disagree. I heard this thought right before my soulmate shut me out of his mind. He is currently the most respected watcher in our tribe. His legacies are exactly who The Cube wants them to be and he wears his destines with pride. He shuts me out whenever he wants to practice what he wants to say before he says it. So, I can only twiddle my thumbs in the silence while I wait to hear him say something he knows I would not want to hear. "Dynasty or not.

Desiree and Walker were not your sims and that is the problem, Moji. You don't trust your sims. You do not trust yourself."

"You keep saying different versions of that but I don't understand, Ravi. Can you just drop your shield, please?"

"No. Cause you'll misunderstand a thought and hold on to it and then we'll be fighting all night. Ah not going back home with yuh vex or swell up, nah. Jus' listen to what I'm saying."

"I am listening. And I trust Acadia and Koa but it has to be a glitch. Ever since Lovestruck -"

"There are no glitches in The Cube, Moji.

Even when you think the programming is faulty, if you look hard enough, you will see the good in their plan. The system always works. Yeah?"

"Yeah. The system always works."

Chapter 1.6

Where the hell did I go wrong? Seriously, tell me! Ravi said the problem is that I didn't trust Acadia. But do you hear the nonsense that comes out of her mouth? And my mom says she's not broken but it's easy to forget that she has the emotional control and good manners reward traits because she is wreaking havoc on the household! I can't with her... I just can't...

"This change should help, Kady. It could be temporary. Until it feels like you're on the same page again. Being a storytelling savefile can be great! I can't tell you what we'll do. I honestly can't talk to you and Walker as much as I used to but a little less autonomy for you both could be good!"

"Why didn't you just leave us with Madam Sinclair?"

"What? You hated her! You just ranted about the whole calling you Duke thing and the Winterfest party being a disaster."

"She told me she didn't let you change your name when you got married. That you're a Sinclair and there is nothing wrong with that."

"What does that have to do with you? And Sinclair is not her maiden name so I don't get where she was going with that. Anyway -"

"And yeah, the party was a disaster but do you know what she did? She took me to an Alternate Savefile and made me do it over again and again and again. Do you know what you and Walker would do? You'd probably give me a potion. And Walker would just let me be sad until he needs something."

"Are you seriously complaining about Walker being nice? You complained that he was too bossy and now you're saying that he was too nice? Yuh not makin' sense."

"I'm saying he never knows what I need. Neither do you. Whatever.

Turn me into a puppet or whatever works for you. You'd never take the time to understand me anyway."

I think I have a headache... This is a sim that I had from a baby. No watcher understands her better than me. Where did I go wrong? Seriously, tell me! Snob, Insider, Cheerful, Self-Assured, Adventurous, Emotional Control, Always Welcome, Good Manners, Iconic, Top Notch Infant, Muser, Gregarious, Domestic. I even switched out her Jealous trait when she met Walker because it caused so much trouble with Koa. If I could switch out my own Jealous trait, I would! She should be happy with this life! Why is she so miserable? Why are these traits so useless?

Drone Logs [Simangela] SA-143-001: I'm sure she's fine, sweetie. Doh worry. [Simravi] SK-143-013: You're right, Aunty. Thank you. [Sintristan] SM-143-005: Ah got promoted to level 5, Zuri. Lemme take yuh out, nah? Dinner to celebrate? [Simzuri] SN-143-022: Not interested. [Simcandace] SD-143-019: I'll celebrate with you, Tristan. Wey yuh wanna go? [Simtristan] SM-143-005: Well, you know all de nice spots, Candace. You tell me. [Simangela] SA-143-001: Shall we get started? We got some last minute family leave so ah want to finish knitting some gifts for my grandbabies. The servos hate-hate-HATE when you write things down before discussing it with them so make sure you add it to your watcher profile after the meeting. Overall, Meta-Simulation 143 had a good sim-year in The Cube but we will be getting some help from our comrades in The Frame in the spring. We are still waiting for confirmation on new worlds opening up. And don't shoot the messenger but carnival 1006 is cancelled. [Simtristan] SM-143-005: What?! My sims will not be happy about that! Or Desiree! Where's Simohgi? [Simravi] SK-143-013: She's in a meeting. And Desiree has an AU trip to make up for it. You should consider that for your party animals. [Simtristan] SM-143-005: True, true, true. Any fete is ah good fete. [Simduncan] SP-143-001: The date of the annual watcher mixer will be announced in the spring. In my experience, it would happen some time after the culling. So don't get too excited or distracted by the party. Tristan, I'm looking at you. Focus on your stats, keep your legacies or challengers in line and keep us in favour with the Omniscient One. Agreed? ALL: Agreed. [Simduncan] SP-143-001: Great.
