Smiling widely, the blonde slips in to sit behind James, his tanned fingers reaching out to undo the ponytail keeping James’s hair out of his face
“I braid mine often, it is easier when it is out of my face. ”
Particularly when flying, more than once he had been distracted by his hair blocking his vision and nearly run into something. Combing his fingers through his shield-brother’s hair he began to part it and section it off.
“ It pleases me that you have allowed me to do this, it has been some time since I’ve braided another’s hair.“
Many of his teammates were not fond of being touched, or only liked it when they were the ones doing the touching. It was something Thor strived to keep in mind, but he still wished he was allowed closer to them, to him it was a natural thing, as it with his shield-siblings on Asgard.
The sensation of hands through his hair was strange; no, it was the gentleness that came with it, the careful way Thor did his hair, tugging the band out of his hair. Hydra had always ensured he looked presentable, so his hair had been brushed a few times, but it was usually rough. Jerky. Uncomfortable. Thor wasn’t doing that, he was considerate.
Humming in agreement, Bucky leaned back into the touch, eyes closing. With the exception of Natalia he never got this comfortable with the other Avengers, not even Steve; he still had trouble exposing his neck around them, an unconscious thing, but very real. Thor was, like he and Nat, a warrior; perhaps not first, but it was there, drumming through his veins. He knew loyalty. It had Bucky trusting the god more and more. “Feels nice,” he approved, eyes closing. “I used to do it for my sisters, when Ma had to rush to work. Never understood why they liked it, but ‘s nice.”
The words weren’t meant to slip out, a brief glance into his past, something he hardly talked about with any but Steve. More trust. Too much? No, not yet.
