August just looked at the other with a bit of frustration, arms folded over his chest as he leaned against the doorframe of his apartment. “You’re really gonna let that guy come back? “It’s really dark out here.” Dan chuckled as he spoke to the person across from him. He didn’t mind it. It was almost peaceful. The street had been empty before he ran into them, and it gave him plenty of time to think-- but now that there was another person, he was definitely going to try and make conversation.

“I trusted you. My mistake.” Arms crossed over his chest as he spoke and instinct told him to leave. To just say fuck it completely. He didn’t need this shit. Didn’t have time for it. And yet, here he was. Trying. And for what? Bullshit, absolute fuckin bull. Hollis flexed his jaw, hating that he even let himself get to this place but he forced a breath and then rubbed the bridge of his nose. Soothing. Or trying to at least.
