“Oh!” Eiko is pulled into the alleyway in an instant, just in time to avoid their pursuers. Her heart was pounding, both out of excitement and the sudden movement. Even so, she manages to smile as she catches her breath, turning to face Laelia in a tender moment.  “What would I do without you, hmm?” It’s whispered and sealed with a kiss to the cheek. She relishes their closeness for just a second more before she nods her head in the opposite direction. “Let’s get moving before they wisen up, shall we?” 

A hand covers Eiko's mouth as she pushes her against the recessed door she has spotted out of the corner of her eye, shielding her with her body.

They squeeze together so tightly in their narrow hideaway that she can feel Eiko's heart beat with her own.

Laelia holds her breath until she hears the pair of boots pass them by. She holds onto Eiko a little longer, the hand over her mouth dropping to grasp her arm.

The kiss catches her by surprise, still looking over her shoulder, and her head jerks around to Eiko, eyes wide, lips slightly parted. How can she be so calm?!

Laelia lets out a shaky exhale, steadying herself enough to retort, "Not yet." Really! The nerve to try and fop her off with a kiss on the cheek!

Laelia leans closer, unhurried, cupping Eiko's head as she kisses her on the lips.

"Now we can go," she smirks as she opens her eyes again, taking Eiko by the hand. "I know my life would be a lot less exciting without you."

"I would be more concerned if my life were dull in the first place. I left the mundanity behind log ago." Viktor is entirely unimpressed with Eiko's posturing. "You are mouthy. Thieves where I am from know better. Posturing gets you killed more quickly unless you have a special enough skillset that others want to recruit you rather than gun you down where you stand." He hasn't looked up from his computer. His hunched posture is doubtlessly going to make his back ache by evening.

"Well? Do you want my help with your plans or not? Give me the information or stop wasting my time."

Aww its so ugly you just have to love it!

"Fugly," he agrees with reverence. Stu's had a soft spot for dogs his entire life- he's even had a few. These days, given the band's instability and how often they've moved in the last decade, he's foregone one and made do by patting every pup out on a walk that he can. He'd probably benefit from a service animal, but that would require a lot of work his lifestyle is simply not going to permit him to put in.

The mutt in question today is some kind of terrier/dachshund mix with an overbite, and it has his heart in all kinds of adoring knots. He's on his kneels happily stroking its back, not a care in the world. The owner is nowhere in sight, but from the harness and leash, it clearly got away from someone recently.

"Do I call an ambulance or...or what?" The Khazen has the wherewithal to ask rather than assume. If only he had a medikit on him- surely that knows how to stitch humans back together again!

The priest, poorly disguised in a humanoid form as he is, cuts an uncanny figure. Were he to melt into a black hole in the floor, it would certainly not be a surprise on the eyes. "What matters is whether you saw success. Has the scroll been retrieved from the museum safely, or have you come to me with bad news? Again, I remind you, a dock in pay is the least of your worries should this endeavor have gone...sideways."
