Wow guys this podcast is just amazing I mean I am A huge fan of the avatar series and, although i understood everything you guys were talking about you guys brought up alot of good points that I never considered like. I just wished yal would have talked more about how ulike the last air bender which was basically about what bending is better, the legend of korra is more about whos should be at the top of the social later benders or non- benders? I feel thats the key basis of this shows structure
This is a great point, and something we brush upon in later episodes. The original show was an exploration of war and nationalism, much like the struggles of the mid-19th century, but this show tackles the distinctly 20th century narratives of class, wealth, power, and equality. The de-emphasis on traditional bending styles, and new focus on innovation, both in bending and technology, drive this point home. We'll dig into this soon. Thanks for listening!
You guys are great.
