- Stebbins is super nonchalant about it, couldn’t care less if everyone knows that he and Hank kiss behind the school. Problematic for Hank who really want to do a big relationship reveal for his friends and they keep stumbling upon them in compromising positions that Hank has to somehow justify.
- Stebbins doesn’t care but Hank is still coping with being into guys and scared about how people will view him, little angst because Stebbins thinks Hank is ashamed of him and daddy issues (maybe he tries to be more feminine or be a more stereotypical relationship or romantic partner to try to get Hank more accepting. This goes poorly). Plus maybe Hank talking about how much he loves women and starting a family with friends and it’s making Stebbins doubt himself and their future. (Maybe Hank visits home where everyone knows him as the popular playboy ladies man and he’s basically constantly friend-zoning and excluding Stebbins to keep his act up.
- past or current fake dating Raybins and Pete x Hank, where they don’t wanna seem like they moved on too fast or that they were waiting for the chance to date their friends ex. (Mayyyybbeeee aro Hank and Stebbins who fit and fulfill eachother in a way their current romantic relationship can’t do. This is my guilty pleasure dynamic) OR wingman Stebbins and Hank to get gavries together and fall in love first and faster and then have to hide it (bonus if gavries ends up not working out because then it was basically a set up for them).
- both Hank and Stebbins don’t care about being seen together but when asked if they’re dating they say no. Maybe just that circumstance over and over or the other boys believe they’re trying to keep it secret and have to cover for the two most obvious couple ever.
- Major visits or is present somewhere and Stebbins has to wrangle everyone so they don’t let his dad know he is both gay and in love with someone short (or that he can feel love). This is troublesome because Hank keeps talking with the Major and they seem to like each other (neither knows their connection to Stebbins).
- both have repressed feelings about being gay but love each other so they hide it from the other boys. They also definitely make fun of the others being in love with others while secretly holding hands under the table.
- Hank and Stebbins both enlist help from the other boys to tell each other they’re in love except they enlist basically the same people and now everyone but each other knows their planning something (kinda the opposite of secret but might be fun).
- Stebbins and Hank fell in love but they have work to do so they have to ignore it or at least keep it away from HR (detectives perhaps?)
