Photo: @medievalaustria - This so-called "Stechzeug" (armour for the tournament), richly decorated with tendrils, grotesque, mythical creatures and mythological-allegorical figures, was made around 1490 in Milan and still inscribes today its former owner: Giovanni Angelo Missagila, envoy to the court of Emperor Maximilian I. in Innsbruck (Monogram G appears four times and a stroke with "Signor Frachasso" three times). This armour was finally bought by the emperor and became the property of the Hofjagd- und Rüstkammer in Vienna. #visitvienna #kunsthistorischesmuseumwien #hofjagdundrüstkammer #emperormaximilian #stechzeug #medievaltimes #middleages #armour #medievalarmour #15thcentury #medievaltimes #medievalworld #art #mefievalart #gothicart #wien #vienna #medieval #medievalart #medievalhistory #maximiliani #milan #mailand - #regrann https://www.instagram.com/p/BuZih2lnmRK/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1p87fno0ehto2
