    she hated when the team went away for a case, it meant that she had to leave nate at home when she’d much rather be at home with him. letting out a soft sigh, erin paid the cabbie and climbed out with her suitcase in hand as they came to a stop at their place. looking the apartment building up an down, erin smiled, just a bit longer and she will finally, FINALLY be home. taking the elevator up to their level, erin stepped out and moved towards the door. she had only just stepped inside when she felt her back hitting the wall with a thud, followed by a set of familiar lips onto her own. letting out a groan, erin ran her fingers through nate’s hair as she tugged gently on it and pulled him closer. it was moments later when they separated with a gasp “god damn, if that’s the hello a girl gets after being gone for so long, you can bet your bottom dollar I’ll do it more often.”

     ‘ yeah. ‘    it was a mess of her own making. she’d managed to stave off most of her tears in ava’s office, but once outside the door, they threatened to fall. in an effort to keep them away for good, she blinked, keeping nate from seeing the outcome of their argument. it would have been preferable to slide from the room, from the bureau itself, and barricade herself somewhere quiet. she avoided his gaze, hoping that doing so would prevent him from seeing the depths of her upset, but it, like her attempts to talk to ava, failed miserably.   ‘ guess i do, huh? ‘
