Fall in love with being solo
I went to my first barista coffee training class in Dunedin today and made my first cappuccino and latte!! It’s so exciting to be learning and doing something new. I’m really looking forward to finding a job where I can continue to practice making coffee.
Aside from today’s class, I explored some sights in Dunedin like the steepest street and the railway station. I also tried some of Dunedin’s popular restaurants like Jizo (Japanese) and Paasha (Turkish). Dining by yourself can feel intimidating at first, but once you learn to appreciate the freedom and be at peace with yourself, the experience is very exhilarating and relaxing at the same time! I’ll be exploring a couple of museums and a dim sum restaurant for lunch tomorrow my bus back to Queenstown. Looking forward to more solo time!
OH! And I got two casual jobs!!! One as a guest service rep at Onsen Hot Pool and a food and beverage attendant at In2Food Catering. Casual jobs mean that hours are not set or guaranteed but it’s a start. Onsen Hot Pool is a popular attraction in Queenstown and I always had a passion for event planning so it will be a great learning experience at both. I’m loving my experience in NZ so much!
