Stefaan is a photographer from Bruges and is specialised in the discipline of urban exploration. Urban exploration (often shortened as urbex or UE) is the examination of the normally unseen or off-limits parts of urban areas or industrial facilities. Urban exploration is also commonly referred to as infiltration, although some people consider infiltration to be more closely associated with the exploration of active or inhabited sites. Stefaan was featured with several of his photos in the Sunday Times (UK) and some of his photos are also featured in various UK published books on urban exploration.
“Photography” is Stefaan's escape from society. People living their lives here and there doing what everyone does. Photography gives Stefaan freedom and respect. Creativity is his way of saying NO to the everyday routine... Creativity is also important for him. Every picture he takes has to have a soul or a feeling.
