I headcanon that the first time Rosa spoke to her in Spanish Amy got really embarrassed because she doesn't speak it. Her parents rarely spoke it around her, didn't encourage her or her brothers to learn it bc they thought conforming to "American values" would help them get ahead in life. Most days it doesn't bother her but sometimes she gotten crap for it. Rosa just shrugs though and says if she wants to learn it later she can.

Which she did after taking a course at the learning center and adhering to a strict schedule.
