Keep Your Distance || StefanxMeredith
If the mistakes that already was done wasn’t enough, then it had to come up another one. But this time it was different from the others. It involved another person and not just a normal person you had met once, it was Meredith Redford. A redhead girl that carried around with a secret that now was revealed to what many thought a dangerous man. A man who could make your life to a living hell. The man who could make you suffer painfully until you lost all your control. He hadn’t planned for this to happen and he had no idea that Meredith would run away. So now it was only to wait until she returned to town, if she ever did. He had to talk with her and explain everything and it was perhaps time to tell her what he was. Perhaps only a few hints though. Or he could only say that he’s not an ordinary human either, that he also has a secret that not many in this town are aware of. Would that be better than to say out loud, I’m a warlock and I can feel if someone is different and I know what they truly are after a while. Nah, that was not going to happen. Better to start with something easier instead.
Stefan let out a deep breath. He had no clue how to solve this problem. How to tell Meredith the truth. He was scared of how she was going to react, considering how their last meeting ended. Better just go there and let the words come out. As planned. He was not a person who cared about other people but he slowly started to care for her, especially more when he saw how scared she became of him when he asked about faeries. He wasn’t used to that people would react like that when he asked them about the supernatural world. Sometimes they shrugged their shoulders and shook their heads or tried to deny it, but later they would admit it that he had right with all the facts he had said to convince them to tell him that he had right. Stefan had read about almost all the creatures that was a part of this world.
When Stefan came closer to Meredith’s house the more it felt as he should turn back home again. An irritating lump started to form in his throat and he tried to swallow. Thank god none saw him right now. None would recognize him because he was so nervous and this never happens. After fifteen minutes or so he was outside her house. He stood outside the door and reached up his hand to the door to knock. A lot of things ran through his mind right now and he took a deep breath before he knocked. While he waited until the door would open, which he hoped would happen soon he looked down to his feet and murmured on how to start a good sentence “Hi Meredith.. I..No shit. Shut up” He shook his head. That was not a good way to start everything.
When the door opened he looked up slowly and the lump in his throat felt as it had grown. Now there was no turning back. He had to do this now, no matter how hard it would be to try explaining. Perhaps it was too late to come over now but he had tried to think all day of what he could say to her and finally he was here. Just say the truth…
