🇺🇸 Part.5 of my “French Revolution meets Hamilton” project.
After introducing Tahar Rahim as Camille Desmoulins yesterday, I have to present now Stéfi Celma as Lucile Desmoulins, Camille’s wife.
Very young when she met Camille, Lucile was also very young when she followed him on the scaffold, at only 24 years old.
While awaiting her execution, she’s reported to have said: "They have assassinated the best of men. If I did not hate them for that, I should bless them for the service they have done me this day."

Après avoir présenté Tahar Rahim dans le rôle de Camille Desmoulins hier, je me dois aujourd’hui de mettre en avant Stéfi Celma dans le rôle de Lucile Desmoulins, la femme de Camille.
Très jeune quand elle a rencontré Camille, Lucile est aussi très jeune quand elle le suit sur l’échafaud, à seulement 24 ans.
En attendant son exécution, elle aurait dit : “Ils ont assassiné le meilleur des hommes. Si je ne les haïssais point pour cela, je les bénirais pour le service qu’ils me rendent aujourd’hui”.
