humanity’s most powerful sorcerer got himself some well-deserved kisses <3
got dola/sol on the mind a lot… probs because i’m really tired today… just thinking about them being all sweet and fluffy >.<
thinking about dola just relaxing on the sofa with a good book when sol finally arrives from a long research trip. he’s tired—not even enough energy or willpower to go change into something comfier.
he kicks off his shoes by the door then drops his coat over one of the armchairs as he approaches her. dola greets him with a warm smile and he feels a little of his energy come back, but it’s not enough.
she can tell what he wants and puts down the book. her arms are wide open for him as he crawls over and onto her, burying his face in her stomach. he says something, but its muffled. warm hands rub soothing circles on his back, and once he gets feels himself grow a little more energized he lifts himself higher to silently ask for a kiss.
and she gives him one, of course, on the forehead with her hands cupping his face. then another on the tip of his nose, on his eyelid, on his cheeks, the corners of his lips. he cant help but smile and chuckle before closing the gap between them to give her a kiss on the lips.
“feel better?” she asks, forehead pressed against his.
“just a little,” he replies, earning himself a playful roll of the eyes. but she plays along and kisses him again, this time longer, deeper, only pulling away to catch her breath.
“and now?”
“a little better.”
they laugh and he rolls them both onto their sides. they’re smiling, eyes twinkling as they gaze at each other. he tucks her hair behind her ear then caresses her cheek with his thumb. her smile turns softer, and so does her voice.
“i missed you,” she says, nearly whispering. he returns her tenderness, closing the gap once more another sweet kiss.
“i missed you too.”
Ugh thinking so hard about how slowly it sinks in for Dola that Solomon’s genuinely happy to be her mentor and how baffling it is to her that he quickly considers her his equal the moment she becomes a fully licensed sorcerer. How quickly ‘apprentice’ becomes a teasing endearment instead of her actual title to him despite how much more she has to go because what is three years to three thousand?
And Dola’s just unable to really comprehend how or why he just accepts her like that even as she’s helping him with high level spell development or accompanying him on research trips around the world. For a while some part of her wonders whether it’s all too good to be true, until one day someone makes a snide comment doubting her abilities and crediting all that she is to Solomon and Solomon only. It’s the first time she sees his eyes come alive with anger, and before she could say anything he begins his own spiel in her defense, and it’s her first time she seeing just how sharp his tongue and venomous his bite is.
It’s not the first she’s been defended—Satan, his brothers, Diavolo, and sometimes even Luke have stepped up to keep her name clear, and Solomon himself had defended her before as a friend. But as a mentor?
Dola wonders why she ever even doubted him.
Well, she knows why. Mentors of blood relation mad that their student surpassed them so quickly had no problem taking their anger and envy out on her. Demanding perfection, irate at the slightest mistake, past assurances of endless support made empty and meaningless once she learned within a few years what took them decades. You’ll never be enough, they said. You should be better than this by now.
She wonders why she ever had the audacity to lump Solomon in with those monsters when all signs pointed that no, he’s nothing like them. He’s always been gentle, always patient, and never failed to offer guidance as she fumbled her way through teaching herself magic after her first year in the Devildom.
He’s been nothing but encouraging even before he’d formally become her mentor, always quick to praise achievements and quicker to sooth frustrations. Each question she had was met with a thorough, happily delivered answer, and even her attempts to purposely rile him up were responded to with teasing callouts and at most, playful retaliation.
When he reassures her that that insignificant pest that dared slander her had no clue what he was saying, she’s reminded why she was drawn to apprentice under him in the first place.
And her heart softens.
I just got enough story keys to get to the end of the key route and omg 🥺
Iah!!!! How does Dola and Solomon's first kiss go??

askjdh for some reason this makes me really shy typing it out >.<
I can see Satan really enjoying Dola's crush once he's settled into the idea of it. It's just such an opportunity, to be able to see her like that with the outsider perspective? He was probably overthinking her actions a lot during their crush stage, so now he just gets to take everything in. He can see little details that he missed the first time around, and things that he didn't realize she does with him because he's too busy being lovestruck to notice.
And!!! This time she has someone to talk to about everything? And I mean just like fully gush, and whine, and rant to her hearts content. And he can listen and offer support and insight. She was so scared originally that her feelings for Solomon would push Satan away, but instead it's actually bringing them closer together, strengthening their relationship.
And of course the teasing!! I like to think he has like, little pranks he plays on the pair. Nothing to hurt them or make them super uncomfortable, but a spell that means they're stuck holding hands, or putting them in positions to play knight for each other. Also:
Satan: I'll push him down the stairs and you can catch him and say [cheesy line from his most recent romance novel]
Dola: Absolutely Not.
I'm actually pretty happy for Solomon and Dola's first date to be a bit awkward. I like Solomon failing to consider that it could be awkward to be that alone, or even the implications of it. I like them realizing where they are, becoming so aware of their own bodies down to each individual atom. Their relationship has changed but they've not yet worked out their new boundaries. They want to kiss so bad, and now they're actually allowed to, they don't know what to do with their hands.
The cooking lessons 🥺 I only just realised that it's a role reversal with who's student and who's teacher. How vulnerable must it have been for Solomon to accept that his cooking isn't good, that he couldn't even tell and no one was willing to tell him? How long has it been since he's genuinely been a student? How does it feel to see Dola take his request to teach him so seriously, to see the grace with which she steps into the mentor role?
The domesticity of standing side by side in comfortable silence chopping veggies, arms brushing a little. The feeling of her chin on his shoulder as she stands on tiptoes to see what he's doing, and the steady grip of her hand over his adjusting his technique. When it gets warm because they've been running the oven and stove all day, she pushes up her sleeves. And he's seen her like this before, during a night when a potions lesson carried on for hours because she was determined to get it right; sleeves up, hair coming loose, bent over a recipe with a crease between her brows. Here though it's different, here she is in charge, and it makes his heart clench.
The first time he finishes cooking a meal without her help he's so nervous for her to try it, but she holds his hands and doesn't flinch when she bites into what he made. It's not perfect but it's still edible, maybe even good, and her praise sends him over the moon.
Y'know I didn't think about involving Asmo but like... He's known both Solomon and Satan for so long? He could probably be really reassuring to Dola if they talked about it before Satan's revealed that he knows. Also really into the idea of Asmo just walking into a room with Dola and Sol and just knowing, because pining is basically a form of lust. Solomon would have to command him to keep his mouth shut though, or else the entire Devildom might hear about it.
I've never actually heard of mana burn out but it's such a good idea?? I wish they'd done that in canon. MC being in steadily weakening state while the responsibilities pile up (and wow you're right that is A Lot). The scene with Lucifer and the knife with MC being barely strong enough to stand on their own?? It would've been so good.
Does Dola tell the brothers about her symptoms? I'm kinda feeling like the answer's no. But Satan would figure out something is off, and then it's the angst of being separated by an entire realm and knowing your partner is ill and refusing to seek treatment and oh fuck what if she's dying?? Somebody tell Dola she can change her emergency contacts before Satan has a heart attack.
The guest room.... Dola looks up one day and the space that used to just be hers has become his without either of them realizing. He has protective sigils carved into each doorframe, and a pile of ambiguously clean laundry at the end of the bed- his bed, the entire room smells like him. She goes to the store and buys things that he likes to eat, and doesn't complain too much when he clears a shelf in her pantry to store his potion ingredients in. It used to be the guest bedroom, but now she can't see anyone else using that space, she can scarcely believe it wasn't his from the very beginning. One day she comes home to find her painting the room some outrageous colour, and she's not even angry, she laughs so warmly and cleans a drop of paint from his cheek and offers to help.
Solomon having to believe for even a second that Dola's been killed because she didn't tell him she's immortal now?? Iah, that's so evil!!! I hope that Dola was meaning for it to be revealed on a special occasion or something because I really don't know how she's going to get around not saying so otherwise...
But also now I'm AU-ing: when she's killed it's at a point where she hasn't completely finished becoming immortal, and that reality breaking magic her other self had touched springs forward in her last moments and she's just able to self-necromance. Now both her boyfriends have trauma about her dying!!
I think I spent too long on this and my brain turned to mush but I hope it's not too obvious lol.

:0 this is perfectly coherent, don’t worry about it!! And hsfkjshd all the little scenarios you mentioned…. Really makes me wanna paint each of them >.<
Hiya, hi, hi!!!
😮😮 Dolasach having a different birth name?? That could be fun but it does put you in the difficult position of having to find another name,, (Why are names so hard 😢😢😢) and it also low-key plays into the Lady of Masks thing too!!
For surnames,,, Solomon has to have one right?? Even if it's one he chose for himself?? Do you think there could come a time where either Dola would take his name or they'd choose one to share together 👀👀
Or or or while Dola's on a mission for the Sorcerer's Society, they have to go undercover together for whatever and they're like Well The Best Way To Do This Is To Pretend We're Married. And then they have to spend the entire time pretending they aren't over the moon about being fake married and their aliases having the same surname skdjsks
Actually this is the second ask in a row about Dola being not quite married to her bfs but I don't actually know how she feels about marriage (and in canon she likely couldn't marry Satan for a long ass time anyway,,,,)
Anyway!! I hope your wrist feels better soon. Everytime you post about you being injured I'm like Iah noooooo :((!!! So wishing you quick recovery and a little pain as possible!!

dfjklsdj considering how much work went into coming up with 9 unique single word names of Irish/Gaelic/Welsh origin (and uh, probably 20 more different ones I've deleted over the years) the hustle isn't new... It's actually deciding on the final name that I hate siiiiigh ddfgbshjkgfg But ooh! I honestly didn't think too much about that but that is true :0 A tie in to the Lady of Masks... Too good actually, now I'm even happier with the choice to give her a different birth name >w<
thinking about solomon having perfected that powder that lets anyone see who their soulmate/s through red string then trying it out on dola after she agrees to, the both of them thinking it’ll just connect her and satan… then when they use the powder, it shows the two of them connected too
just leaves them stunned, because theyd never seen each other that way before. it gets awkward—what now? dola wonders if she has to tell satan; solomon wonders if he’s made a mistake in doing this experiment in the first place. what of their friendship? how do they move forward from this?
in the end they choose to forget about it and to never talk about it again—it’s for the better, they agree. and if something were actually meant to happen, then they’ll just let it unfold without forcing it. they werent even supposed to know that they were soulmates to begin with, after all.
but sometimes, during the times they’re alone together, it’s clear from how one glances at the other that the thought lingers in their minds. how does it happen? why does it happen? and what will satan think?
even after theyre finally together, they still cant help but wonder sometimes if the incident had any say in their feelings. but they’re happy, so does it truly matter?
