In his hands was all the dark chocolate he’d been able to find. He remembered Stella saying she was craving it, and it was the least he could do with all the generosity she offered his way. Not that he ever took her up on it, but it was the thought that count, and Adam was glad. It wasn’t as if he could offer her the same. What he had was very little--something he never took for granted--so he’d learned a long time ago to give what he could, and what he could give today was dark chocolate. He hoped it was enough, and would find out as soon as the door opened, having knocked on it moments before.
