Eclipse for my alien au (name still pending lol). so for fun as a warm up lately I've been slowly chipping away at this. have a ref sheet for him! he may not appear in the actual fic itself, at first I said he wouldn't at all but now I'm undecided. he's huge, as evidence by the size chart.

he's a mix of the two races for Sun and Moon's species. very rarely when a child is mixed-race it can result in... abnormalities. some don't show many differences at all from one of the parent races, some like Eclipse get extra limbs, or a mix of rays and the head tails I've decided to call crests. some are just kinda taller/have more muscle density than their peers. Eclipse got it all, which is pretty improbable but does sometimes happen. most people on or off world will never see someone like Eclipse in their lifetime. he's got an abundance of self-confidence because of that and no one dares to humble him as an adult lol

Moon's had a couple changes to his design lately, which sounds not like what you asked for, but that does mean that Eclipse is getting a tiny bit too! slight color changes for him. you can't really see it anywhere but his teeth (soon. at some point) but his bones aren't white.

he has to buy his clothes and his bed specifically sized for him, and for his clothes he has to have them tailor-made for his having four arms and more musculature.

his eyes glow when he's angry or very ~worked up~. while there's no iris or pupil to see on his right eye, there is a center-point of brightness that looks like it on that side.

he's got a lot of energy, he would very much rough house with Star or another human any time of day. he tries to do one big physical activity a day- scrimmage, run, hit the alien gym, something.

because he has more muscle and he lives a more active life, he needs to eat a lot to keep up with the demands on his body. positively voracious appetite sometimes and he can really pack it away.

has been known more than once to sleep on his lower arms funny and wake up with them all pins and needles, which he whines about whether or not someone's around to hear him.

Hey, what do you think Stellar Orbit Eclipse would do if Star helped him through a bad day like how some therapy/service/whatever scent/disease sniffing dog do with random strangers?

Like the ones that accidentally sniff out strangers cancer/blood sugar levels, hear someone slightly upset and go "Must comfort!". Would Moon probably not appreciate Star being around Eclipse unnecessarily, especially because Eclipse intimidates him? Yep! Does Star in this case care? Nope!

if it was something that was "work-related", for lack of a better term, while Star is on the clock as a service animal situation, Moon would initially not want them over by Eclipse- Eclipse is scary! Moon's used to being the tallest guy around of his species, and Eclipse has those extra arms and an aura about him that makes his stomach flutter (you sure it's fear, Moon?)- but as soon as Moon sees how they're acting, he'd relax bit. keep an eye on Eclipse? definitely yes. but if Star's sensing that big boy needs a hug or something, Moon's not going to risk an elevated situation by snatching them away.

Eclipse, if he somehow either knew or didn't know (I guess) that he needed the assistance in that moment, would probably try to laugh it off and tell Moon thanks for loaning him his pet, but it's not necessary. Star staring at him intently would likely unnerve him after a little bit, especially if they refused to move on. he's used to having eyes on him, but those little human eyes are piercing in that moment. and if they insisted on a hug or some other soothing kind of thing, he'd probably accept just because it's odd and he's thrown off. pet the giant multi-armed alien on the bus.

Cackling at the thought of Moon just panicking at Star trying to climb Eclipse (I am not stopping). Also, as I was writing the ask I did suppose it would depend of how Moon was feeling at the moment (we really don't want to hurt him) but on a good day sounds fun.

Eclipse makes Moon so nervous, that would be ten-fold if Star just up and started climbing him like a tree. (it's okay, Moon. Eclipse thinks it's funny and he thinks that you being so frantic is both funny and adorable.)

yeah, Star knows better than to try on a bad day unless they aren't aware it is one. then there's a lot of apologizing through a language barrier. maybe some more cuddles with Sun eagerly joining in.

3. he doesn't have any unusual speech patterns, no. he speaks rather smooth, his sentences sounding pretty relaxed and flowingly. unless he's angry, he tends to speak in short and punchy phrases when he's pissed.

5. he does like to sing! and he's pretty decent! he just can't hit high notes, he's a low register boy.

9. god no, he's so bad. the extra hands do not help him. he's probably made a couple lumpy, crooked things in his life before he gave up, and they sit high up on shelves in his house. Sun will be so (fondly) disappointed in him.

17. he IS good at cooking, though! Sun's better, but Eclipse is actually pretty good himself. he likes to cook for his dates, so he's got a few fancy things he can make, but he feeds himself pretty well too.
