Science is the real arts subject. And literary analysis is a joke.

Stupid for giving a fuck about what HE thought while writing. Literature is about what YOU think and not about what the author meant.

Literature departments take raw, chaotic psychological masterpieces and force them into rigid, pre-approved scripts. Turning Kafka’s Metamorphosis into a safe, predictable essay on "the horrors of capitalism" is just peak institutional performance.

While literary analysis has been reduced to a safe, moralizing handbook, science forces you to stand face-to-face with the unedited, chaotic mechanics of the universe. It requires actual imagination and a ruthless willingness to look at the cold abyss of cause-and-effect exactly as it is.

If your understanding of art is just recycling a pre-approved script, you aren't thinking.

as someone who read project hail mary in sophomore year of high school, college freshman me ADORED the movie. SPOILERS AHEAD!!!

i absolutely love grace’s arc. old grace would have went back to earth instead of saving rocky, and i like the timing of the flashback of grace being forced to go on the mission. old grace would’ve put himself first, but new grace put his friend first.

the beatles’ “two of us” playing while grace saves rocky also foreshadows the fact that grace’s home isn’t earth, but it’s erid. “we’re on our way home” is sung as the hail mary flies back to rocky. without background context, you might’ve thought grace was going back to earth with this song playing in the background, but he’s going HOME, to erid, where he truly belongs.

i also love how rocky’s mate’s gender is never specified. “you have a mate? what’s THEIR name?” made my gay heart so happy. and even though adrian is a reference to the rocky movies, it is still a gender neutral name. i love the ambiguity of rocky and adrian’s relationship. love is love!

one complaint though, THEY DIDN’T CENTER THE TUBES IN THE CENTRIFUGE!!!!!

finals headcanon bc it's finals week for me and i hate it (ft. the sillies)

taka goes to bed everyday at 11 PM SHARP (he usually tries to sleep by 10) because he wants to study hard but he also values the consistency of his schedule & his body

chihiro studies normally like doing all nighters and drinking energy drinks (he hates coffee) (only likes it when it's super sweet but he'll go for an energy drink instead) (not the best idea). he also does study time with taka and mondo too

mondo used to not study but after he started coming to school regularly he just studies with taka & chihiro. he is intimidated by the thought of studying by himself so he only nibbles at his notes & textbooks when on his own
