This question comes up a lot, and it's easy to get it wrong.
If you answer no, you slip into the heresy of Docetism... the denial that Jesus was fully human.
Being human means having hormones, emotions, and even libido.
To deny that is to deny the Incarnation.
But if you answer yes, implying that Jesus was romantically attracted to women, that feels kind of weird.
Was God crushing on people? That borders on blasphemy.
So we need to be precise here.
Scripture tells us that Jesus experienced real human emotions. Joy, anger, sadness.
Hebrews 4:15 says that he was tempted in every way, yet without sin.
So yes, he did feel temptation; he just never sinned.
I had these exact same questions not too long ago, so I asked a priest and here's what he said: Jesus had testosterone. His body was naturally ordered towards attraction to women.
But he was also fully divine.
He saw every person with perfect, pure love not eros (romantic love), but agape - the highest, self-sacrificial form of love.
In other words, he looked at women not as objects, but as daughters - his creations - in the same way a loving father looks at his daughter: with tenderness and care.
Saint Thomas Aquinas taught that Jesus assumed a full human nature, including appetites.
But his will was so perfectly united to the Father that even if he felt natural impulses, he mastered them completely.
In fact, Jesus loved women more deeply and more purely than any man ever has.
Not with romantic attraction, but with the desire for their salvation, for union with him in eternity.
So was Jesus attracted to women?
Yes just as he's attracted to you or me.
Not in a romantic way, but in the sense of true, self-giving love...
