Valley of Amazement
In the excerpt A Valley of Amazement the girl named Lulu was born with extra fingers. Her parents want her finger to be operated. According to the pianist coach of Lulu there is no piece for the sixth finger, and no known pianist with six fingers. This part shows the discrimination to the person with disability just like Lulu. She shows that even though you have that kind of in born disability your still have to accept the fact that you have it and you can not change it unless you will undergo to a surgery. Lulu represent and show the American Side of point of view of Amy Tan wherein if you are having different trait,or you are having a certain disability you are unique that can make you more beautifull. The parents of Lulu represents the Asian side wherein they lived with the culture that if you’re not normal you don’t belong to them.
