While it’s nothing compared to others’ experiences recently, today I experienced the scariest day of my life. Apparently, some people got spooked at the #miamiyouthfair and while I was waiting in line for a ride I see hundreds of people running, stampeding towards me and my friends. My first reaction was to make sure my friends who weren’t in line knew what was going on and could get to a safe place. Then I looked for people who needed help while maintaining focus on the direction the stampede was coming from in case I needed to run. I didn’t hear any shots fired so I had yet to panic. Luckily, no shots were fired and I’m not totally sure what happened except having hundreds of people running towards you. At first I thought “No way, not me! Am I going to die! What’s happening?” But luckily for me and others nothing bad happened. Many were crying and looking for missing friends but things calmed down after 5 minutes or so.
