Adar and Step-Dadar Post🖤
Can we just talk about how Sam was so careful to match the same body movements, voice, and demeanor that Joseph Mawle brought to Adar's character in the first season?
Clearly they are different actors and that is so apparent, but I appreciate when I see one artist respect and preserve another's work so precisely. Losing the opportunity to have Joseph return for season two was a HUGE blow and I don't think I'll ever fully recover from that news. That being said, seeing what I've seen from teasers and interviews with Sam regarding his casting, I feel comfortable trusting him with Adar's character.
It's clear to me that Sam and Joseph (as also mentioned in an interview) know each other and have worked together before. Sam has ensured that Joseph's work in season one has carried over. And although obviously his interpretation of Adar may be slightly different than Joseph's, you can see he has paid attention to Joe's performance in season one and made it a part of his own.
Personally, I feel like Joseph Mawle was absolutely perfect for this role and I am still shocked with his exit from ROP. Adar was a new original character he put a lot of time and research into on top of his acting. Sam has my respect for stepping in as Step-Dadar, but I will always be partially biased in terms of who I prefer as my favorite uruk.
Thank you Sam Hazeldine for honoring Joseph's portrayal with your performance as Adar. We put our trust in you for season two! 🖤
