Mr. Robot - S2 E7 -  eps2.5h4ndshake.sme part 2

Much like the rest of the cast Steph Corneliussen/@stephcorneliuss is utterly amazing and mesmerizing in her role as Joanna Wellick.

The scene: an attack on “capitalist pigs” and one of the known available targets of the 5/9 attack is a present time scene built off a flashback and a match cut of earrings which links the scene. The sequence’s non-liner editing complexity is wonderfully built and the attack is itself a flashback which transitions to true present time with the sonogram framed picture and Joanna drinking wine.

The scene, which could have been more dangerous and a violent outcome - like what happen to Gideon - had the woman used a weapon instead of paint.

The scene recalls anti-fur attacks and other aggressive attacks on public figures in recent times.

The violent-esque outcome and the visual flair in composition, movement, and editing, and sound engender further De Palma formal linkage alongside the musical one produced by the Blow Out theme interpolation usage.
