17. EM77 Kettle / Erik Magnussen (Stelton) / 2018
-
I’ve long been a fan of the EM77 vacuum jug, and Stelton have kept this iconic shape and added the functionality of an electric kettle. Easily the best looking kettle I’ve come across.

16. Desert Trek / Clarks / 1970s
-
Introduced in the 1970s and now considered an iconic piece of footwear with its central seam butt and crepe sole. I’ve recently gone back to wearing my brown leather pair that I’ve had for about 10 years, still looking as good as ever.
15. Eclisse / Vico Magistretti (Artemide) / 1965
-
This beautiful little table light has an inner shade (the dark grey bit of my drawing) that can be rotated within the outer shell. This either exposes or hides the bulb inside, creating either direct or diffused light. Still in production today by Artemide.
11. Soft Urn / Hella Jongerius / 1993.
-
Made of soft PU rubber, and initially available in various skin tones although the full production piece was only one colour I think. The material used gives the piece a translucent quality, as well as flexibility. Maybe still available from Belgian brand Droog.
9. Lola’s moka / designer & date unknown
-
I have lived in Italy for 5 years, and this little guy has made me two coffees a day for 3 of them. Before me, it was used by Lola, my partners Grandma. It’s not a fancy brand, it doesn’t have any special features. I put decent coffee in it (Kimbo is a personal favourite - none of this single origin / roasted in house, on site shit), some water, and it makes some of the best coffee I have ever tasted. Simple is best.
4. Sophie’s Plate / Barcelona Airbnb / Date Unknown

A beautiful plate that I came across when staying at Sophie’s flat in Barcelona.
