10. Cacaolat Milkshake / Unknown / 1970s

A brand I only discovered after moving to Barcelona, Cacaolat have been around since the 30s, when in 1931 they produced the worlds first bottled milkshake. Pep, the boy on the carton, has undergone a shameful modernisation recently, but you can still find this 70s packaging if you hunt…it makes the milkshake taste better!

9. Lola’s moka / designer & date unknown

I have lived in Italy for 5 years, and this little guy has made me two coffees a day for 3 of them. Before me, it was used by Lola, my partners Grandma. It’s not a fancy brand, it doesn’t have any special features. I put decent coffee in it (Kimbo is a personal favourite - none of this single origin / roasted in house, on site shit), some water, and it makes some of the best coffee I have ever tasted. Simple is best.

Iconic 60s utilitarian design. Melamine tableware consisting of mugs, plates, bowls, storage jars, all produced in various colours over the years. Still in production by Heller today.

Called Snoopy because it was originally conceived with a black reflector and white marble base. I think the orange version is nicer though.
