Today is the anniversary of the passing of Her's. To my knowledge, this is the last known photo of Stephen Fitzpatrick and Audun Laading, taken at The Rebel Lounge on March 27, 2019. When they left the venue to head to their next show, they were hit by a drunk driver going the wrong direction. Both them and their tour manager were killed in the collision.
They were young and bright and the best of friends, and their music had touched so many in such a short time. I had a ticket for that show at Rebel Lounge, and for a reason I don't remember now, I wasn't able to go. I heard the news the same night and my heart sank. Not because I missed a concert, but because I didn't get to show them how much their music meant to me, and now I never would.
So if you did know them, or if you're just learning about them now, listen to their music and think about what once was. We're all getting older, but these two will be forever young. For better or worse. 💜💔
