Update on this awesome film I got to work on (link in Bio): The film, has moved its debut to Nov. 17, 2017, Variety has learned. The decision was made after “Wonder” had a strong reaction from test screening audiences. The cast includes Owen Wilson, Mandy Patinkin, and Daveed Diggs, the Tony-winning star of “Hamilton.” It is directed by Stephen Chbosky, who wrote and directed “The Perks of Being a Wallflower” to much acclaim. To tell you the truth, I don’t know where they are appropriate to use. I’m not saying you shouldn’t know them. You should absolutely. But I just have never heard anyone use the words “corpulent” and “jaundice” ever in my life. That includes teachers. So, what’s the point of using words nobody else knows or can say comfortably? I just don’t understand that.

Novel Study Assignment For "The Perks Of Being A Wallflower"

This is just one of the assignments I had to do for an independent novel study in my English class :) I might be posting the other assignments I had to do for this book later if anyone is interested:)

In my novel “The Perks of Being a Wallflower” by Stephen Chbosky the main character Charlie has dark brown hair and soft blue eyes. Charlie never tells us his last name because the book is written in a form where he writes letters to an unknown friend about his first year of high school.          He does tell us that he has an older sister and brother and a mother and father; they all live in a Pittsburgh suburb except Charlie’s older brother who is in college. Charlie does mention that his birthday is on December 25. For a 16 year old boy Charlie has a very unique personality because of how emotional and caring he is towards others. Early on in the book Charlie meets Sam and Patrick who are seniors that go to school with him, later on they all become very close friends. They help him ‘participate’ more in life and introduce Charlie to new things. Patrick and Sam are very fond of Charlie because of how different he is. Patrick calls Charlie a ‘Wallflower’ at a party in the beginning of the book because he sees things, keeps quiet about them and he understands. Charlie is in love with Sam but she only loves Charlie as a friend because of how young he is. Charlie enjoys all sorts of music but his favorite song is ‘Asleep’ by The Smiths. He also loves to read books. When Charlie’s English teacher; Mr. Anderson finds this out he gives him all sorts of different books to read and write reports on during the course of the year.  At the end of the school year Mr. Anderson tells Charlie how incredibly smart and special he is and it was a pleasure to teach and get to know him. Three words I would use to describe Charlie would be: Emotional, Conscientiousness and Open-minded.

About to finally watch "Perks of Being a Wallflower". I sincerely hope that it doesn't tarnish what the book did for me when I was in high school. I guess it couldn't...I just hope it lives up to my teenage expectations.
