can you tell me more about meeting haz?? you’re so lucky

Hi! The short version: I flew from Sydney, Australia to New York City for New York Film Festival in October 2016, and met both Tom and Harrison there for the first time, at the world premiere of The Lost City of Z, which I had a ticket to. I briefly talked with Tom and when he found out that my name is Tess he freaked out and went from professional work mode to 8 year old boy in love talking about his dog, Tessa (it was absolutely adorable), and I got to talk with Harrison for about 10 minutes and he completely blew me away. Absolute legend. He took a genuine interest in me, asking me all these questions and I kept making him laugh and it was absolutely amazing. Nobody there was really interested in Harrison, they were obviously more interested in the stars of the movie, so we got a lot more time to talk than I did with Tom. They were both super sweet and kind and really generous and everything. It completely blew me away.

Going there, I knew I might see Tom and was excited, and I knew that there was a chance that Harrison could be there aswell, but this was like 2 weeks after Spider-Man: Homecoming finished filming and although I knew that Harrison was Tom’s best friend and I thought that he was funny (from his instagram stories and stuff), I wasn’t like DYING to meet him or anythng, because I just didn’t know much about him and I didn’t know what I would say. Then after meeting both Tom and Harrison that night, honestly Harrison just completely amazed me in a way that I can’t even describe?? It was great. The whole night was great. The whole trip was great. It was all outstanding and wonderful. Yeah then a few months later I made this blog because Harrison sort of won my heart a bit that night haha.

Let me tell you, there is absolutely NOTHING like looking into Harrison’s eyes in person. Unbelievably beautiful.

So yeah, that’s the first time that I met Tom Holland and Harrison Osterfield, and since then I’ve been lucky enough to meet Tom 2 other times, and meet a few of his family members and other friends. Everybody that I’ve talked with has been extremely kind, and if I had to use 1 word to describe Tom, it would be generous. Tom is a good person. Harrison is a good person. Tom surrounds himself with good people. I am extremely thankful for this experience.

Lol so that may not exactly be classified as “short” but trust me so much happened with this that this is the extremely condensed version haha. Thank you for giving me an excuse to talk about this again! :D. I love this day.

37 with roommate/best friend! harrison??

37 // One of us gets too drunk and calls about a hundred times.

you sigh as your phone rings again, you don’t have to look at it to know it’s haz, because he’s called you at least 13 times before this. you’d answered the first call, he wanted you to pick him up from tom’s place where tom was having a lil boys night and you had thought haz was just going to stay over. but apparently not. tom had taken the phone and explained to you that harrison had a bit too much to drink and kept asking for you as if you’d magically appear until he remembered phones exist.

so you pull up in front of tom’s and head in. tom opens the door and greets you happily with a hug, before letting you in. harry and tuwaine are sleeping on the couch, sam is on the floor with tess in his lap scrolling on his phone.

“where’s haz?” you ask

“i’ve got him in the bathroom bc he said he wasn’t feeling good,” tom answered, leading the way.

you can’t help but laugh when you see haz, sitting by the toilet, head leaning on the closed lid. tom shakes him awake and he smiles when he sees you.

“hey best friend, what are you doing here?” he slurs, lifting his head up, “not you tom.” he pushes toms face away from his line of sight.

“you called me to come get you, silly.” you giggle

“oh okay, noice.”

he makes grabby hands at you so walk over and grab them, attempting to lift him up, tom helps and you both pull one of haz’s arms over your shoulders and start walking him out. you shout a goodbye to sam when you pass and manage to get harrison outside and into your car with no dramas.

“you gonna be right with him?” tom asks.

“yeah, no stress. nothing i haven’t dealt with before,” you answer.

“alright, shoot me a text when you get home, yeah?”

“will do, thanks tom.”

you hop in the drivers seat and start the car when your phone rings, you frown not knowing who it could be. once you pull it from you pocket you groan and look at haz, who has his phone to his ear and a playful grin on his face.

“why are you calling me when im right here?”

“answer the phone and ill tell you.”

you shake your head but do as he asks and put the device to your ear.

“you’re a div,” he says.

“oh my god,”

you hang up and shove you phone back into you pocket and start driving home. the drive isn’t far but it feels like it is because haz literally won’t stop ringing you. despite the fact you were right beside him, and he refused to talk unless you answered the phone, so the drive was full of the one sided conversation that was just you telling him to stop.

with only a little bit of difficulty you manage to get him inside and to his room, he strips down to his boxers and gets into bed, making grabby hands at you at again.

“oh no way, you’re being too annoying, you can sleep by yourself,” you say, heading out of his room.

he just whines as you shut the door and go to your own bed. you settle in quickly, almost falling asleep until your phone rings. its harrison. although, it reminds you to text tom that you got home safe so you ignore the call and quickly do that before he rings again. you let out and exasperated sigh before answering.

“what are you doing, haz?”

“come sleep with me,” he says

“no.”

“please?”

“haz, please just go to sleep.”

“you can’t hate me for drunk calling you, you do this to me too.”

“okay, first of all i dont hate you, second of all you make it sound like a fifty fifty scenario which it isn’t. when one of us gets too drunk and calls about a hundred times, ninety percent of the time it’s you.”

“because you always come to my rescue.”

“yeah well, what are best friends for?”

“for cuddling, get over here.”

“i’ll think about it.” you say with a smile, and hang up.

you do get up and go back to his room, he let’s out a sleepy cheer when you shut the door behind you. he opens his arms wide for you to climb in, and you do, snuggling into his chest happily. he hugs you securely and presses a long kiss to your temple.

“love you.” he mumbles.

“love you too haz.”

“no, love love you.” he kisses your head again.

you smile softly, “tell me that in the morning, okay?”

“okay.”

He made a movie about a trans woman and cast a cis man to play the part even though trans women had auditioned for the role, and then when said trans women started talking about it on twitter explaining why it was harmful to cast men as trans women his only response was “I’m still learning please be kind to me” and it was like.. if you’re gonna make a movie specifically about trans women it only takes a few seconds to google casting controversies and see why it’s bad. 

Then like 2 days later he posted some video about lgbt stuff and his caption was like “join me in getting woke” and it was just embarrassing.

do you have any favorite lovely complex blogs? you’re like the only one i follow, the fandom is so small 😭

Unfortunately no.

Like you said, this fandom is tiny. To be honest, there are quite a few people who like Lovely Complex, but none of them have active lovely complex dedicated blogs and very few of them regularly make content. Which is kind of why I made this blog, because I thought Lovely Complex and other Nakahara Aya mangas deserve more love. So I can’t help you there, but if you want, I can point you out to people who would love to talk about Lovely Complex.
