Imagine if all the MCU movies we know were actual life-story biopics in the MCU.
Now imagine how Bucky would spend his birthday the weekend Captain Marvel came out, after all the trolls of the world tried to tank the score.
Just a short little warm-up fic, both for Bucky's birthday and for @debwalsh, who has been waiting patiently for *cough* over a year for her FLPR fic, as I continue to work thru the worst writers block I've ever had. The fic is being written now, babe! And I'm loving it lots!
~~~~~~
Steve waved a hand to cut Bucky off. “I really don’t want to spend your birthday getting into fights with people over a movie.”
Bucky narrowed his eyes before pulling Steve off to the side. “It’s not just a movie, Steve. It’s Carol’s story.”
“I’m aware of that.”
“And that fucking tomato site –”
“You mean Rotten Tomatoes?”
Bucky scowled. “There’s definitely something rotten about it...” He shook his head and blinked back up at Steve. “Anyway, that fucking site has trolls trying to tank the score of this film simply because Marvel Studios finally got around to telling the story of one of the girls on our team –”
“Okay, you and I both know the only reason they haven’t told Nat’s story yet is because she wasn’t ready.”
“But she’s ready now.”
“Yes.” Steve nodded. “Which is why the script is in the works.”
“Okay, but...” Bucky looked around again, more wary now than anything. “But what if this movie does tank, and they decide to scrap Nat’s?”
Steve just shrugged and shoved his hands into his pockets. “Then we make good on our threat.”
So I saw this, and couldn’t not make this happen for the Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf ‘verse.
“And remember, you can’t treat oolong like it’s...Steve are you even listening to me?”
Steve blinked the world back into focus, his sharp breath betraying his strayed thoughts, even as he replied, “What? Yes, of course. ‘We Yearn to Glimpse Our Beautiful Heavens.’ White, Yellow, Green, Oolong, Black, Herbal. See?”
Bucky’s eyes narrowed, and Steve inwardly winced because he was pretty sure there may have been words said after that oddly pretty mnemonic sentence, but it wasn’t his fault it made him think of space, which made him think they should visit the planetarium at the Natural History Museum, which then made him wonder when the last time was that either of them had had a day off at the same time, which of course started him planning a weekend getaway, preferably upstate where there was less light pollution and maybe they could see the Milky Way, and –
“STEVE!”
“What? Sorry. What?”
“Are you kidding me right now?” Bucky exclaimed, slapping his metal hand down on the kitchen counter, making all the little tea cups lined up in front of him dance, and he was so beautiful, even when he was angry – blue eyes vivid and bright, jawline cut where he’d locked it, a pretty pink flush spread all the way down to his bare chest. Steve briefly wondered if kissing the scowl off his face would work like it did last time. “You said you wanted to learn about this stuff!”
Or maybe not.
Steve groaned, and thunked his head on his arms before turning beseeching eyes on Bucky. “I didn’t actually say I wanted to learn all this, I –”
“Yes, you did! Not two hours ago!”
“No, two hours ago you had your dick inside me when you said you wanted to teach me how to make a proper cup of tea, and in my defence, the way you were playing with my prostate, I pretty much would have agreed to anything. Which, dirty trick, by the way,” Steve finished, pointing an accusing finger Bucky’s way.
“I know that,” Bucky answered with a completely unconcerned shrug. “How else do you think I got you to agree to sit through that seminar on Chinese teas when we went to the C&T Festival back in March?”
“Hey!”
Bucky snorted. “Steve, do you have any idea – how shall I put this? – how...agreeable you are right before you come?” He then walked around the island to come sit on Steve’s lap. Despite being absolutely affronted, it didn’t stop Steve from curling a possessive hand around Bucky’s hip. Or stop him from kissing back when Bucky leaned in. Or from whimpering a little when Bucky sucked on his bottom lip. When they eventually broke apart, Bucky’s eyes were alight in an entirely different way. “Pretty agreeable post-orgasm too, now that I think about it.”
“I take exception to everything you just said.”
“Oh, you’ll take something, all right.”
Steve eyed the setup Bucky had spread all over the island counter. “You asked because it’s important to you.” It wasn’t really a question.
“You know it is,” Bucky answered, quietly.
“You could just ask, you know,” he said and ran a soothing hand over Bucky’s back. Despite everything, they were both still pretty timid and private about why they loved tea and coffee so much, sometimes even to each other. He tucked a loose strand of hair behind Bucky’s ear before kissing the corner of his mouth. “Truthfully, what’s important to you is important to me, and I do want to learn about it. I just think I’d rather learn when I actually know what I’m getting into. Despite your truly devious forms of manipulation” – Bucky bit his lip and smiled – “I’m also not all there post-orgasm, so I’m not the most reliable at paying attention.”
“You paid attention just fine during the seminar,” Bucky pointed out.
“Yeah. Because it hadn’t been immediately after sex.”
“Pretty sure we would have been asked to leave if it had been.”
“Actually.” Steve coughed, heat traveling right to his face, hard and fast. “After watching you completely geek out during your presentation later, I kind of desperately wanted to go to my knees and suck you off, and I may have found a discreet place or two I could’ve made that happen.”
Steve had to grab the counter to keep them upright, Bucky was laughing so hard.
“So what happened?” Bucky finally managed to get out. “Pretty sure I would have remembered getting a blowjob during the expo, and that’s definitely not a memory I have.”
Steve just shrugged. “We were too busy.”
“Is that why you sucked my brains out through my dick later that night? Because that’s something I very much do remember.”
Steve had to fight a smile. “Probably.”
“Tell you what,” Bucky said – more like a drawl – his smile slowly turning avaricious. “Why don’t we curb this little lesson till later, and right now you find a way to make it up to me for not paying attention.”
“As long as you make it up to me for being a sneaky little shit,” Steve countered, right on Bucky’s page.
Bucky placed a kitten lick across the seam of Steve’s lips. “I think we can come to some form of a mutual agreement.”
Steve couldn’t get them to the bedroom fast enough.
Summary:
It started out simple enough: A fantastic one-night-stand between the outright tea heathen, Bucky Barnes, and the absolute coffee snob, Steve Rogers.
And it would have stayed simple, if neither of these two idiots had found out about their mutual hatred of the other’s choice in caffeinated beverages. But when are things with Steve in Bucky are ever that simple?
EDIT: I FORGOT THE ART TAGS!
The amazing OG art!
The fantastic new art she didn't have to do but did because she's CRAZY AMAZING!
Post the last sentence you’ve written for a WIP and then tag as many other writers as there are words in that sentence.
~~~~
(posting slightly more than one sentence because uno sentence would make NO sense)
It actually made Bucky feel a little guilty, knowing that couples like May and Coulson, Clint and Nat, and even Sam and Maria, were out there sacrificing each other for the greater good, and here Steve and Bucky were, holled up in their home, screaming like banshees at anyone who even looked in their general direction. It would have been humiliating if it wasn’t so pathetic. So they’d agreed.

Do I tag three (for last sentence) or sixty-nine (for total)? Yeah, I’m going with my own number.
What about a HC that Thor's hammer decides steves worthy at the most random/inappropriate time? Like he's reaching to catch the remote and the hammer flies into his hand instead? Or hes waking up and reaches over to his shut off an alarm clock, and the hammer just smashes through the floor into his hand. Imagine him having to explain the damage to Tony. Like, hey Tony, funny story. Thor's hammer decided I was worthy and now there's a path of destruction from it flying through three stories...
“Okay, Capsicle, you’re gonna need to explain this to me again.”
Steve sighed, and honestly, he was more than a little proud that he managed to not pinch the bridge of his nose in the process. “As I already said, for reasons I still can’t figure out –”
“Because you are worthy,” Thor supplied, still wearing that same weird hybrid of smug terror that had been plastered on his face for the last two hours.
“For reasons I still can’t figure out,” Steve repeated, “Thor’s hammer decided to come flying from his apartment to mine –”
“Destroying three floors of structural engineering, in the process” Tony added, and honest to God, why was no one letting him finish a goddamned sentence?!
“Yes,” Steve answered, through gritted teeth. If the hammer had thought he was worthy before, it certainly wouldn’t now, once he started beating the crap out of everyone. “Again, I don’t know why,” he tried again, and held up a finger before Thor could even start, “but I guess deciding I’m worth lifting it meant it had to come find me the hard way.”
“Which you should be proud of!” And Steve didn’t believe Thor’s beatific smile, not for a second. Not with the way Steve could still see the whites of his eyes.
“I’m not looking to take your job, Thor,” Steve said, deadpan. “Or Mjolnir, for that matter. I’m happy with my shield.”
“Oh, well, of course, you shoud choose the weapon you’re most comfortable with,” Thor said, but the relief coming off of him was vibrating in waves.
“Okay, but that still doesn’t tell me what you were doing that made the magic hammer come flying at you.” Tony looked over at Thor, confused. “I thought you had to be reaching for it, for it to come to you? Unless you’ve been lying all these years, and you just think you look fancy sticking your arm out like a hitchhiker.”
“No, Stark, you do need to be calling it, for it to come to you, as it has with Steven, here.” Thor turned to Steve, and Steve knew - he knew - he was turning bright red. “What were you doing at the time? It might help us figure out what caused Mjolnir to come to you.”
“Oh, well…”
“Were you engaged in any sort of battle? Were you reaching for your shield?”
Steve opened his mouth, but everything went blank at the idea of explaining what he –
“Oh, he was reaching for something, all right.” It was at that moment Bucky came out of the kitchen, apple in hand, munching loudly. He stopped by the dining table long enough to smirk at everyone present. “Just never knew my dick was important enough to call for that –”
Here you go, bb, have a little SB&J Sandwich at the zoo.

“Lions.”
“Tigers!”
“There’s no way I’m responding to that!”
A metal arm snaked around TJ’s waist, and Bucky tucked a light kiss against his neck with a laugh. “Aw, baby, don’t be like that. Do it for the nostalgia!”
“I wouldn’t even do it for the Vine,” TJ responded with his own laugh. He reached up to scratch lightly at the back of Bucky’s head. “And besides, this is your guys’s nostalgia, not mine. Just because you two are old as dirt and were there for Dorothy’s flight to Oz doesn’t mean we all have to play long.”
“Spoil sport,” Steve grumbled as he walked by, swatting at TJ’s ass as he went. He turned down the pathway that led to the carnivorous creatures anyway, intent on living out his and Bucky’s dream, it would seem.
TJ pulled away to follow, but not without taking Bucky’s hand as he went. “You know, I really hope we didn’t come all the way out to the San Diego Zoo just to see a group of animals that we can find at the Bronx Zoo. There is more to this park than just some lions, tigers, and bears —”
“Ha!” Bucky shouted from behind. “Got you to say it!”
TJ smirked, glad that Bucky couldn’t see his face. “No idea what you’re talking about, Barnes.”
“Yeah, yeah, you keep telling yourself that.”
“We know you too well, baby.”
“You two know nothing.”
But TJ followed along anyway. Maybe if they got lucky, they’d catch a few of those animals in the act. See if they couldn’t recreate any of it when they got back to their hotel that night.
After all, when it came to Steve and Bucky, TJ was game for anything.

Give me a prompt and I’ll see if I can write it in five minutes
[1] While you're checking your inbox, you notice two things at the same time: the first being that someone's hung a sprig of mistletoe over your inbox, and the second being that a rather familiar blond man in a tailored deep blue suit a few shades darker than his vivid blue eyes is leaning against the nearby wall. Beside him, an equally familiar man in a festive cardigan, black-rimmed glasses, somewhat wild dark hair, and eyes seemingly glued to a tablet, leans with ankles crossed...
(in the spirit of you trying to be anon, I’ll keep my response here ;P)
[2] Though the besuited man, somehow possessing an air of danger without actually doing anything blatantly menacing, is the one looking you in the eye, it’s the dark haired, younger man who speaks. “So, you’re aware of the tradition of mistletoe, right?” You nod, confident you’ll have words to actually speak in just a second. Right there, on the tip of your tongue. The man in glasses looks at you, eyes greenish-grey and as arresting in their way as those bright blue eyes you’d locked on before.
[3] “Any objections to our upholding the tradition?” Asked the owner of those particular blue eyes, drawing your attention back to him. His grin is dangerously seductive. “Um…” You can’t, at that moment, think of a single reason why not, so you shake your head, saying, “No?” The dark-haired one nods in a business-like fashion and tucks his tablet away in a messenger-style bag you hadn’t noticed on the ground by his feet. “Right, then,” he says as a sweetly naughty smile blossoms onto his face.
[4] “I thought I was first?” rumbles the dangerous blond. “No, of course not,” is the reply as the dark-haired man removes his glasses. Next thing you know, they’re standing before you, shoulder to shoulder, and two different, but equally devastating grins turn your knees to jelly and your ability to reason to mush. “Maybe the actual recipient of the mistletoe kisses should decide,” suggests the blond. “Good idea,” agrees the brunet. Both of them raise expectant brows and await your reply…

It took far less time for me to recover than I originally thought possible. As I turned from the piercing blue eyes of the dangerous blond before me to the equally assessing grey-green eyes of the brunet, I knew what I wanted.
I wrapped an arm around the younger man’s waist, pulling him close, as I lightly dragged my other hand along the stubble that dusted the older man’s strong jaw.
"I’ll take both," I answered, my voice a rough whisper. "Think you can find a way to make that work?"
Narrowed eyes and a fierce grin met my words as the blond leaned in to whisper in my ear, “I do so love a challenge.”
It was then that warm lips pressed against either side of my throat. With a smile, I glanced up at the unassuming sprig of green and red, and in that instant I knew - I wasn’t going home tonight.
