That sounds beautiful. Sometimes I wished I lived near the ocean.

It's easy for me to forget that there's moments of beauty to be found in this densely populated suburban metro-area. There's hardly any public land (it's all private, rich-people estates). The downside of east coast ocean is that there's no mountains. The highest point in Connecticut is just the slope of a mountain in Massachusetts.

I also woke up at 5 something. I then ran a mile and cried about it to everyone I could get a hold of (most of China and Snapchat). Running is the worst.

When it's good, running is the best. When it's bad, it's really, really bad. One day you'll have that magical, life-changing run where it all makes sense.

I don't know where my speed came from today, it didn't feel like I was pushing the pace all that much. Saturday was below mileage and Sunday was a zero so perhaps that's it.

I imagine an alien of sorts, stumbling upon this satellite to find geckos inside, thinking the gecko is the alien and never even knowing that creatures like humans exist as well.

Right now there is a satellite circling the earth filled with Geckos having an orgy. That's incredibly weird to know about.

25 is perfect I think it just feels so hot since we've had the shittiest spring ever. That and the fact that I have to walk around in a polyester shirt all day.

That might be an additional factor, as I did have to walk to the the train and gym in my work clothes. But overall, even 25 I don't like unless it's overcast and/or breezy.

Ahhh man I hate/love it when you do this!! I just want to know! And I'm a wee bit jealous you get to travel so often. Almost looks like the west coast? BC? Maybe too sunny though....galapagos islands?

I wondered if you would encounter a snowstorm going in Sept. Looks beautiful though and I love your kitty friend.

Most things I read before going did mention that snow usually fell in the latter half of the month so I thought I'd avoid that. On most days the mountain peaks received a dusting but it wasn't until the 2nd week that it affected the trails across the passes. It wasn't really difficult but it would have been nice with boots instead of lightweight trail running shoes.

That's awesome!! Are these hikes (wrong word probs) that anyone can do? How long were you trekking for? I want to go do that!!

It's all relative to your ability. In europe they refer to this kind of thing as "walking" which is really a misnomer. The route I took is known as the Walker's Haute Route, which connects Chamonix, France to Zermatt, Switzerland and is differentiated from the high-level skiing route. There was no climbing (though there was a ladder and plenty of scrambling) but with about 48,000ft of ascent over 12 days, it's far from a leisurely stroll.

The trails in Switzerland are very well waymarked with signs at intersections telling you what villages are in which directions and how long it will take to walk. The Swiss look down on camping in non-designated areas and it's hardly necessary as its only a day's walk to the next village. Every night I stayed in some variation of hostel or B&B with half-board (dinner & breakfast). In my case I went alone and met up with some other people who were also doing the route on the way. Since there's one guidebook that everyone has (this one) even though we might walk at different paces during the day, at night we ended up sharing the same dinner table.

Overall it was an amazing experience that I would seriously contemplate doing over again. You can read more at /tagged/alps.

To those people who have guessed correctly... shhh! You'll ruin the fun for the other people still trying to solve the puzzle!

I'll try to come up with some more puzzles just to keep things interesting and several people seemed to enjoy the challenge.

You're not close, although you made some strong guesses. Here's where you went wrong:

I live in CT.

The final destination is international.

You mixed up the order, the first one is my origin, the second is the connection and the third is the destination.

As a result of the gelid gyre, I kind of wish it was a warm, tropical destination. In the winter it is temperate and comfortable, occasionally seeing snow. In the summers it can get hot, humid and sunny (although that is not the primary reason people go there).
