Gary sat very comfortably on the dorm couch, a teasing smirk on his face as he leaned into Jimmy's side heavily, arms draped over his shoulder and face Infront of the other boy's; "awww, did you get a kissy kissyyy~?" he bats his eyelashes and tilts his head a little closer to jimmy, ignoring the twisting feeling in his chest, "Who knew you were so much like your mother, Jimmy!"
Jimmy scrunched his nose and threw a rough shove at Gary's chest, "Piss off, Gary." he— gently, mindful of the fresh bruises from the fight Gary got into earlier— pushed Gary's arms away from around his neck as the taller laughed his goofy, nasally laugh and grinned even wider.
Gary threw his arms up in a dramatic show of surrender, palms towards the ceiling and fingers splayed wide; chunky silver rings glinting around his long, bony finger under the buzzing light of the dorm living room. The back up his head hit the arm of the couch with a soft; 'thump'. "Ohh, hit a nerve, did i?" he snickered, hands dropping from the air and landing on his stomach with a dull slapping sound.
Gary threw his legs over Jimmy's lap casually, hands moving absentmindedly to bring the silver heart locket from around his neck between his teeth, his canines clinking against the hard metal— he's far more attached to the stupid thing than he'd ever admit to anyone, considering he got to piss off Jimmy; putting a picture of the shorter into the little heart and leaving it open when he walked around purely to ruin his chances at getting a date.
He's pretty sure people have started taking it as a possessive warning, and he's not entirely sure he could deny that claim without lying.
Petey peeked into the dorm living room with the gross, shared wall phone of the boys dorm to his left ear, a casual smile on his face as he called out; "Gary! it's dad, he wants to talk to you!"
Gary turned his head against the firm arm of the couch, stretching his neck awkwardly to look past the back of the furniture piece to look at Petey, raising an eyebrow in curiosity, "Dad? What, did Ma finally kick the bucket?" he let the locket, now coated in a little bit of his saliva and a new indent in the metal, drop from his lips as he tossed his legs off of Jimmy's lap and move to stand.
"Hm, that'd be the day.." Petey murmured before he could catch himself, watching Gary stretch his arms behind his head and cleared his throat, feeling a bit sheepish for even alluding to wanting his stepmother dead like that.
He hands over the wall phone happily to Gary's outstretched hand, stepping away to give him a bit of privacy and heading towards the couch; "what're we watching, Jimmy?" the couch creaked as he sat down besides jimmy, like it did everyone.
Jimmy looked at him strangely, then glanced over his shoulder at Gary, who was speaking into the phone quietly with a casual smile that seemed genuine enough, then looked back at Petey, "... South park, don't think it's really your thing, tho-" he nodded halfheartedly and threw an arm over the back of the couch as he spoke, glancing at Petey again before focusing on the TV, sliding down against the couch a little and man-spreading a little wider as he watched.
Petey returned the strange look graciously, eyebrows knitted together in confusion, before deciding to let it go; turning his head to watch the TV with a soft, under-breath sigh. He had other things to worry about, like that homework he still hasn't finished, cleaning off the graffiti on his locker and-
"Petey! Dad's visiting this weekend, he's gonna take us and jimmy to the fair!" Gary's voice stabbed through the silence hovering over the couch like a welcome windchime, and bearing good news, too!
Petey grinned wide and twisted around to look over the back of the couch at Gary, his knees digging into the cushions and hands gripping the blanket thrown over the back to cover the tear, "Seriously? like, seriously seriously?" he urged, leaning forward into the couch with boyish excitement.
Gary snrked, a barely contained snicker, and nodded eagerly— despite his teasing noise, he was honestly just as excited and couldn't contain all of that good feeling— "Seriously seriously."
he glanced towards Jimmy, who was staring at the two with visible confusion, and the corner of his mouth twitched oddly; "we're goin' to the fair this weekend, big guy. no gettin' out of it." he pointed a smirk that didn't seem as powerful as usual to the ginger before turning his head away and returning to talking on the phone, slender finger twirling his heart locket absentmindedly. Petey also turned back to the TV, knees now pulled to his chest and a silly grin on his face.
jimmy was even more confused, and maybe going to think about 'Big guy' for the rest of his life.
