To help India in meeting its surging copper demand, Vedanta Limited has proposed a Green Copper project at the Thoothukudi site in Tamil Nadu. However, the proposal to restart the Vedanta Sterlite copper plant was not approved by the Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board (TNPCB). The company has thus approached the Madras High Court for a fair and detailed review of the proposal.
