Sarah: I’ve been telling him for weeks that he can’t keep this from Lane for much longer. So, he knows.
Lia: Yeah, I hope so.
Sarah: Oh, hi, Adeline, Lia! How’ve you been?
Adeline: Good! Dawson says the calf is doing well.
Sarah: Oh, that’s good. I was going to call up there yesterday, but as you can see, we’ve been pretty busy here, hah.
Adeline: Yeah, I can see that! Are you--Are you moving?
Sarah: Yep. Jona got a new job in Del Sol Valley, and they want him to start next week, so we’re packing everything up and moving out there.
Adeline: I had no idea! Congrats to you both, though. Were you planning on going out there?
Sarah: Not in the least. Last week, the company calls Jona telling him they’ve just lost another team member and they’re in the straits. They basically begged him to come on, saying they’ll pay for us to stay somewhere as long as we needed to find a place. How do you say no to that?
Adeline: Sounds alright to me?
Sarah: I think so. So we’re packing everything up, putting the house up for sale, and getting out of Brindleton by Saturday. Jona’s supposed to start on Wednesday.
Adeline: Damn that’s a fast turn around. We’re gonna have to find a new vet! God, Dawson’s gonna be devastated.
Sarah: Oh, I’m sure Dawson will be fine. He’s a grown boy now, after all.
Adeline: -Adeline giggles- Hey! Maybe you can ask Steve to be your replacement.
Sarah: I was going to ask if you two would talk some sense into the man. I can’t give him the job because he doesn’t have the certifications, but god I want to. He’s amazing with the animals. He’s just convinced he’s too old to go back to school.
Adeline: We’ll talk some sense into him. I know he and Emmy are visiting his in-laws this weekend, so I’ll see if he and Dawson want to get drinks when they get back. Sarah, I’ve talked your ear off! You’ve been so busy, we should let you get to it.
Sarah: -Sarah laughs- Sure, hon. We’ll give you a call when my replacement is all set up at the clinic. Jamie’s supposed to be packing up the attic, but I know I’m going to find him up there playing video games. Oh--Speaking of. Lia, I know Jamie wants to be the one to tell Lane about the move. Would it be too much to ask you to keep this between us until Jamie can talk to him?
Lia: -Lia sighs- Sure, Dr. Sarah.
Sarah: Thank you, dear. I’m sure it won’t be for too long.
Sarah: I’ve been telling him for weeks that he can’t keep this from Lane for much longer. So, he knows.
Lia: Yeah, I hope so.
