Party Games ~ part 1
[part 2]
It starts with the 'seven minutes in heaven', as the kids casually sort Steve and Eddie to being trapped together inside a closet while they are at Steve's for a movie night.
That's kinda cute actually. It's not like they didn't notice their plotting and scheming: all those whispering and glancing in their direction whenever they are talking aren't so subtle. Eddie once caught a glimpse of some notes when Dustin's notebook fell from his backpack, the boy scrambling to hide it red-faced and sweaty, the others cussing at him under their breath. Their names were written on it, along with a sort of multi-point diagram, a lot of different handwritings scribled all over in different pen colors. Steve too has to report some suspicious activity: a brief but weird conversation occurred with the girls, a few days ago, when he picked them up after a shopping tour. They asked him if he's currently seeing someone, voice set up as if they had rehearsed the speech, and when he honestly admitted that no, he wasn't seeing anyone at the moment, they fell silent and exchanged an understanding look.
Now, as they are momentarly trapped inside a closet by them, everything has become pretty clear. They laugh it off and take those few minutes to plan a good counteract to their shenanigans. They may be legally adults but they can be way more mischievous than a bunch of 10th graders. As they outline their revenge, voices quiet to prevent ears pressed against the door from eavesdropping, they need to muffle their own stupid giggles.
"You're pretty chill about it, Harrington." Eddie comments in the dark, cramped space.
"We survived the Upside Down, man, you think I'd be scared to play gay chicken to mess with those scamps?" Steve remarks.
He shrugs: "Eh, you got a point."
"How about you?" Steve asks, "Are you in?"
"Always in for generating some chaos!"
Steve can't see anything in the pitch black of the closet, but sure he can hear the shit-eating grinn in Eddie's voice.
Oh, this is gonna be fun!
