As far as new music is concerned, sludge doesn't get a whole lot of press nowadays.
However, there's nothing as visceral as The Melvins. Sludge is downright heavy, and those hardcore vocals punctuate the whole shebang.
But damn! "R.I.P. Earth" has some of the most tasty twin distortion guitars I've heard in awhile, and the slow tempo makes it all the more heavier. Because Steve Jr. is from Montreal, I have high hopes for this band. Let's see what they release next.
