Ok, I don’t believe this at all. 🔼🔽

All of this sounds so sketchy. If this was all said & done and filming in four months, then Netflix and whatever other studios involved would be broadcasting the news like mad. Thus far, it’s only Steve doing it. All of his proclamations seem like wish fulfillment. As if he says it enough, he thinks he can manifest it into existence (and guilt Cillian into signing up).

My guess is the big hold up is Cillian’s payday, and his script approval.  I’m sure Cill wants a big paycheck for coming back to the franchise, and he deserves it after the Oscar win. So the studios and agents, etc., have to negotiate that. And there’s no way that Cillian doesn’t have final script approval. So Steve saying he’s gonna keep writing it ‘til the day they begin filming isn’t going to fly.

My gut feeling is that Cill isn’t happy with the storyline at the moment, and that & pay negotiations are what’s keeping everything from being totally locked in and publicized.

Fun Fact:

Cillian Murphy wasn't even a choice for peaky blinders Jason Statham was the one who was selected for thomas shelby but Cillian insisted steve knight by saying "Remember, I'm an actor."

Steve Knight (the rector of "Hummingbird ") revealed in his interview for Esquire that he had originally envisaged Statham in the role of Tommy Shelby in TV serie Pinky Blinders. Knight had left meetings with Statham and Cilian Murphy and he was sure Statham would be the best to that role. He was until a text message sent by Murphy as his last effort to get the role of Tommy Shelby. Finally Cillian Murphy played and indeed he is great there and "Pinky Blinders " is the good serie. Although it is pity Jason Statham didn't play there.
