Today’s picture book is Have You Seen My Dragon by house favourite Steve Light via Candlewick Press. This sumptuous, visual feast is a delight and a great seek-and-find PLUS learn to count tale for smalls.
In the heart of the city follow a little boys quest to find his dragon. Black and white illustrations with the counting items in vivid colour this book features one of my FAVOURITE details: a two page spread you have to turn the book sideways to view! LOVE!
Recommended for 3+up plus of course, dragon lovers of all ages.
Today’s board books are part of a transportation series and have been my near-two-year-old small’s favourite all year. We have Cars Go, Trains Go and Planes Go (there are many others) by Steve Light, published by Chronicle Books (whose titles are always a delight!) and they are a hilarious, sound-effect driven pleasure to read.
These long, over-sized board books are sturdy, lively and bright and each two page spread is long enough to drive your OWN vehicle across (always a fave at our house!) I give these as gifts often and can’t recommend them enough. BONUS! Listening to your partner and family attempt these sound effects is its own reward. You’re welcome. (Husband and I debated heartily over the pronunciation of “Bripity” for days.)
Recommended for all babies, toddlers and vehicle enthusiasts! Birth to 3+ VROOOOOOOOM!
Swap!

Think baseball cards, or Pokemon cards in the shape of small little plastic characters with names like Lolli Poppins, Betty Boot, Zappy Microwave, Mary Meringue, Carrie Carrot Cake… There are commons, rares and…
