Marshall Crenshaw - Monday Morning Rock Mr Crenshaw's first two records have never come out of heavy rotation for me. There was a certain amount of criticism of the drum sound on the second one, Field Day, from which this is taken. I love Steve Lilywhite's production on these huge, cavernous pop songs. It's an unusual sound for a pop record, but Crenshaw's hooks could cut through concrete. Doing the Monday Morning Rock, indeed!
