The annual Brighton Speed Trials returned to Madeira Drive on Brighton seafront last Saturday and drew huge crowds as always.
Almost 190 cars and motorcycles took part in the trials, the longest-running continuous event of its kind in the world., with racing taking place over a standing start quarter mile.

The Adoration of Trees #3 An old oak tree in Bradgate Park stood guard on the flank of Tyburn as I made my way down to the village as dusk was approaching.
Opportunists Rosebay willow herb (chamerion angustifolium) is pretty impressive, I think. You can be walking along anywhere within the treeline, turn a corner on your wanderings and suddenly it's there.
