Hot-summer-damn! (Summer camp AU)
@steve-captainsnark
Darcy had been bubbling the entire bus ride to camp, a bus from Oregon was taking her to her old summer camp where she had been invited back as a counselor. Darcy hadn’t been back to camp Funshine (Or as she would jokingly call it as a thirteen year old brat “Camp hellfire”) since she was thirteen but now that she was old enough and had some courses in first aid training she was back for what she hoped to be a fun filled summer! The entire ride to the camp Darcy was looking through some of the old pictures she had taken as a kid, the pranks she had pulled with friends, swimming in the lake, and then the camp photo. Darcy smiled as she looked down at the picture of her and her camp best friend Steve, he was this skinny, nerdy kid who had every illness known to man and he had been her best friend every summer that she would arrive at that camp, she remembered on the last day of her very last camp session how someone had told her that he liked her and she hadn’t believed them at the time, Steve was like her best guy friend and one of the only guys who didn’t hit on her while they were there. Darcy basically considered him her brother....remembering Steve reminded her of the letters that had stopped coming not long after camp and how she hadn’t been able to find him anywhere. Darcy got lost in her thoughts thinking about how he was doing when the bus stopped and announced they were at camp and the campers cheered making Darcy grin as she stood up “Alright everyone welcome back to Camp funshine! you two in the first two seats you’re going to help me unload girls to the left guys to the right grab your stuff and meet us at the building labeled “Coolidge commons” for further instructions!” Darcy told them before she got off the bus and headed to the side with the girls stuff only to find someone already unloading
“Guys stuff is on the other side, unless you’re trying to look through preteen girls stuff in which case I might have to call someone.” Darcy snarked with a smile as she pushed her glasses back into place
