Happy Birthday ♎️ to and remembering Steven John Bator a.k.a. Stiv Bators (October 22, 1949 - June 4, 1990) R.I.P. 🖤🥀💔 If I were to sum up an ideal punk rock charismatic icon that covered all the bases, Stiv Bators would be that person. I remember seeing The Lords Of The New Church as a young lad in 1982 at the Whisky a Go Go and was flabbergasted by them. I was a huge fan of the Dead Boys already and was so excited to see him in more of a refined “post-punk” and polished ensemble with other noteworthy members often referred to as a “supergroup” by the media. We met a couple of years later and I found him to be very pleasant, polite as well as charming. Unfortunately I never got the chance to see him with the Dead Boys in their inception since I was just a bit young for live shows at the time and they did reform briefly in 1986/87 while The Lords were active. He always had an affinity for 1960s garage and power pop and that is evident more so in his solo release Disconnected in 1980. I always loved him as the role of “Bo-bo” in John Waters’ Polyester in 1981. He truly was one of the greatest and most charismatic frontmen in my humble opinion. ⛓ 🧷🔥🗡⚔️ 🏴☠️ 🏴☠️ 🏴☠️ #StevenJohnBator #StivBators #Hormones #Frankenstein #TheWanderers #TheWhoresOfBabylon #DeadBoys #TheLordsOfTheNewChurch #Disconnected #Polyester #PunkRock #PostPunk #GothRock https://www.instagram.com/p/CGqOXSfBefO/?igshid=7qp1z0yqi7x1
