Peaky Blinders
Peaky blinders: I need a prequel
it would be possible for them to make a prequel about the Shelby brothers before the war? I want to know about Martha (John's first wife), or Tommy's first love, their mother, Polly's first husband and their young children.
I'm so intrigued.
or maybe I'm saying something crazy. But really, I can't stop imagining their lives before the war

Serenity (2019)
It’s only January but I bet Serenity will be on 2019’s worst of the year list. It isn’t bad because it’s boring, poorly acted, or for any other “normal” reason. It has to be seen to be believed.
Baker Dill (Matthew McConaughey) makes a living taking rich tourists fishing for sharks, swordfishes or other aquatic monsters. Lately, he’s become unhinged due to his obsession with “Justice”, a giant tuna that keeps getting away. His Captain Ahab-like antics have pushed him to the edge of bankruptcy when his estranged ex-wife comes knocking. Karen (Anne Hathaway) wants him to kill her abusive husband Frank (Jason Clarke) for $10 million.
Serenity signals trouble right away. Every time we see Frank, he’s practically drunkenly screaming “I’m a psychopath”. He’s so evil you can’t believe Baker doesn’t feed him to the sharks just because. But the fisherman is so angry at his ex he's reluctant to do ANYTHING for her or their son, Patrick. Meanwhile, he’s living in a storage container and makes ends meet by sleeping with a woman (Constance, played by Diane Lane). Just take the money!
Then, there’s the camera movement. Numerous times, the screen will fly around in a way that recalls an early 2000’s action film. These and other details, such as the flashbacks/visions which hint at a psychic link between Baker and his son, and a mysterious man named Reid Miller (Jeremy Strong) who is always seconds too late clearly indicate something bigger is going on… but WHAT?!!!
You know a twist is coming. Too many elements are out of place. Djimon Hounsou plays the only “normal” person and even he doesn’t react the way you or I would. Perhaps Reid Miller is imaginary, or the Devil in disguise? Everyone's so broad and cartoonish you expect the picture to go black-and-white and for Mickey Rourke to start monologuing about Sin City. Except Serenity isn't self-aware. When it gets to its twist, you can practically hear writer-director Steven Knight congratulating himself. I’ll give Serenity this much: I’ve never seen a movie even try this stunt. At least this guarantees jaw drops and a mixture of disbelief and laughter. And the shocker comes halfway through instead of at the end - as if extra time would make it more acceptable.
Even if you accept the reveal, it doesn’t explain what happens afterward. It’s such a brain-swirler I kept expecting another reveal that Baker Hill had actually lost his marbles or something similar. Nope. We’ll just have to wait for the home release and listen to the director’s commentary to decipher what went through everyone’s mind when they said “YES!” to Serenity. It’s gloriously bad and won’t play the same once you know what comes next so if you enjoy stories that are so bad they’re good, just go see it. (Theatrical version on the big screen, January 29, 2019)
Very interesting facts bout the movie Locke.. I love this movie..n loved bein able to see it in the theater..I felt wht Ivan felt the entire movie..quite an experience! I had to travel bout 3 hrs or more to watch it in theater but it was well worth it to me! Regrann from @tomhardyvariations - 7 Things You May Not Know About The Making of Experimental Indie Movie “LOCKE” 💯 (now streaming on Netflix US🍿) . #tomhardy ~ 1. I didn't know the lines. I got the script three days before we started shooting. I'm reading an auto-cue, so I'm reading the script. 2. There's a lot of pretending to drive in the film. It would have been illegal to read the auto-cue and to drive at the same time. 3. I've got phone calls coming live-feed into my ear... Then the car phone goes off and I have to speak to my ensemble, who are in a hotel room calling me live, and I have to react to them in real time, while being dragged by a loader down the [highway]. 4. Ivan has his box of medicine in the car because he has a cold, and I actually really did have a cold. That's also why Ivan has the handkerchief in his sleeve. 5. I enjoyed playing this guy, particularly while trying a really dodgy Welsh accent. I listened to a lot of Richard Burton and Anthony Hopkins for inspiration. There's something about that accent that's very gentle and kind, and yet that country's built on very harsh terrain. And a lot of tough men and women have come out of Wales. They work incredibly hard physically, but there's something calm about the sounds of their voices. What we hear from Ivan, and what the other people on the phone hear, needs to be a of calming influence. He has to sound like he's in control. [Welsh] seemed appropriate. 6. It's in real time. It's almost like a radio-play, and then just running the camera as life goes by. 7. We did the play twice a night for five nights [shooting], and it took 10 days to do the bits and bobs and cut it all together — it was quite an experimental piece. Regrann from @tomhardyvariations - Alert, Alfie lovers! #StevenKnight, creator of Peaky Blinders, was asked if #AlfieSolomons is REALLY dead. Read on to see what he said (your dead shattered heart may feel the smallest spark of life) 👀👀💀⚡️ . “Hardy's performance as Alfie is one of the main reasons why Peaky Blinders is so brilliant because he has always been one of the most interesting, complex and hilarious characters throughout. Yes, he's deceitful, shifty and untrustworthy but that's why we love him so much. Trying to understand Alfie's motivations is like trying to trap smoke with your hands. . Who else can deliver lines like "Right, well, you will have to add another ton onto your bill, for being a c***, mate, alright," or "Fill it out. Fuck off,” with such an incredible mix of humour and terror! . Since that memorable showdown on Margate Beach, plenty of Peaky Blinders fans have been hoping that Alfie's gunshot to the head wasn't fatal. . One man who might know is Steven Knight, creator of Peaky Blinders, and when he asked directly by the Birmingham Mail if Alfie Solomons is really dead, Knight simply gave a one word answer 'pass.' . Mmm, now that's very interesting. In terms of the storytelling, Alfie's death did make perfect sense –- don't forget that he was also diagnosed with cancer –- but that answer from the Peaky Blinders creator is very curious. . It's not definitive in any sense. Alfie Solomons fans, hope springs eternal!” 👉🏼👉🏼 https://www.joe.ie/movies-tv/peaky-blinders-creator-coy-tom-hardy-returning-show-630755 . #tomhardy #peakyblinders #🥃🥖👑 @peakyblindersofficial - #regrann
