Steve’s hand was big and warm, grasping onto Wanda’s lithe fingers. 

“Steve,” she giggled, clenching her fingers around his. 

“What?” he asked. “Can’t walk hand in hand with my girlfriend?”

She smiled, walking into him and bumping her shoulder into his chest. He kissed the top of her head, and when she looked up at him with pouty lips, he kissed those too. 

“Okaaaayyy love birds,” Sam called from behind. “I ain’t thirdwheeling all the way to Scott’s new place.”

“Just hold my other hand, Sam,” Wanda called over Steve’s shoulder. Cap instinctively gripped her fingers tighter, the thought of another man holding her hand just not sitting right with him, even if it was a joke. 

“Don’t tempt me, Wandy,” Sam joked back. 

Steve pressed his lips down to her ear. “Only me is allowed to hold your hand, sweetheart.”

She giggled, pressing her face into his shoulder. “I know, baby.”

Day two

Prompt: reunion hug

Steve paced around the room nervously. Today was the day Wanda was coming back from her first mission without him; something part of the New Avengers training. She’d been gone for a month, with no word from her to avoid alerting the enemy on her mission.

Steve’s elevated hearing caught into the front door opening. He stood straight, heart hammering. He all but ran out of the room.

She was tanner than when she left. Cheeks red, skin golden, hair in a braid down her back. Her eyes were wide, lips stretched in a smile. 

“Steve,” she said, pearly whites showing. 

“Wanda.” Steve’s voice was low, choking up, eyes watering as he followed her with his baby blues until she was pressed against him. 

She smelled like herself. She was warm and solid and real. Steve wrapped his arms around her shoulders, pressing her face into his chest. “I’m so glad you’re back.”

She sighed contently. “I’m so glad to be here, Steve,” she answered. “I missed you.” She squeezed him around the waist, the warmth of her body that he’d missed oh so much seeping into his skin. 

“I missed you too,” he said. “We are never doing this going away stuff again.”

She chuckled, the sound echoing against him. “I agree.”

Day three

Prompt: spooning for warmth

Wanda’s teeth chattered, the covers brought all the way to her nose. Who’s idea had it been to take a couple’s retreat out in the north of Canada in a cabin? Oh, yeah. Hers. 

They’d been so tired of being around the Avengers, around New York, around people. Steve had proposed a getaway; maybe a weekend in California or something. Only Wanda’s wild mind had decided to break from the traditional tropical vacation. 

And this cabin didn’t even have a heater. Only a fire pit, which now burned so low, Wanda could barely see the embers. 

She was wearing three pairs of socks. Leggings with sweatpants. Two shirts and a hoodie. A toque. Mittens. 

And what was her boyfriend wearing?

Steve was in his boxers. 

Wanda groaned against the chill running up her spine and spun around in the bed, facing her boyfriend, who was fast sleep. She took off a mitten with her teeth and pressed her frozen fingers to his rib cage. Surely, Steve was boiling like a furnace, and as soon as her fingers touched his skin, he hissed right out of sleep.

“God, babe, you’re frozen.” His eyes were puffy with sleep, his hair mussed against the pillow. 

“Y-you’re wa-arm,” she chattered. She trembled so fiercely, and when Steve turned her around so she was facing away from him, he could feel just how frozen she was even through he clothes.

Steve wrapped his warm arms around her waist, chin atop her head, chest and thighs pressed along the whole length of her body. “This should do the trick,” he mumbled sleepily. 

Warmth quickly seeped into her skin, warming first her clothes, creating insulation, and then her flesh. She grabbed one of his hands and held it up to her frozen lips. After a few minutes of kissing his palm, she was warm.

Steve tightened his hold, pressing his face down against her neck. “Warm enough?” he asked. 

Wanda’s mouth stretched into a smile. “Yeah.”

Wanda sits on the edge of the bed, brushing her hair absentmindedly. Her thoughts are so lost that she doesn’t even register that Steve is in the room, looking at her from his perch in the doorway. 

She feels the tickling of his eyes on her scalp, her powers scuttling across her skin. She turns to him, her big eyes wide and blue to match his. Steve smirks, lazily walking up to his beloved. She returns the smile, turning her face upwards. 

She knows he is a man of affection. How many times do his hands wander to her knees or her elbow or her jaw during the day? She absolutely loves it. 

He leans down, and she closes her eyes, ready to feel the warmth of his lips on hers. But he pecks her nose quickly, the sound of his laughter echoing in her ears. 

“What was that for?” she asks, opening her eyes, lazy smile on her lips. 

Steve shrugs. “Because you’re being cute.”

She parts her lips to speak, but he quickly pecks her nose again. “Hey!” Another peck, then another, until the kissing noises echo in the room. “Steve!” She’s laughing, and he pushes her back into the bed, falling atop of her. 

Steve proceeds to lay a million kisses to that cute little nose of hers. “Oh, God, do I love you,” he says, before finally - finally! - kissing her mouth.
