Dr. Stewart/Mr. Zero snippet that came to me in a moment of divine inspiration go
~
“So, what do you say?” Stewart smiles, offering the rose to him. “Would you do me the honour of going on a date with me?”
Zero’s mouth goes dry, tongue stuck to the roof of his mouth. If he looks like a gibbering idiot, Stewart is kind enough not to mention it. His mind is so divorced from his body that the next thing he blurts out is, “Taking a break from honouring beautiful women?”
Stewart’s cheeks pink, hand faltering.
He hadn’t even known the man could get embarrassed.
“One of the downsides of pursuing someone who’s known you for such a long time, I suppose,” Stewart says with a rueful look. “They remember all your embarrassing moments. I am serious about this, though.”
“Hi serious, I’m…” Zero coughs, adjusting his tie. “Er, what I meant is…I’m not exactly a beautiful woman. Are you really alright with that?”
“I like to think I’ve broadened my horizons since then,” Stewart replies, eyes glittering. “And getting to know you better would certainly broaden them even more.”
