God no shame to Jamie Cruttendem and I know he’s an amazing performer and it makes total sense for him to be promoted to primary Lumber if Harrison is unable to perform since he’s first cover and knows the role acutely. But godamn I am not prepared for the influx of white lumber this is gonna make. Lumber IS a black character and, whilst I know this is a problem as a whole with musical theatre since the racism is baked into the industry, it’s upsetting they don’t have a black swing that they can promote to the role in his stead.
For my sanity please can we keep our Lumber designs as a black dude please and thank you in advance <3
