Why did you say you lost the trust and respect of your parents? They are the ones who should be supporting you the most right now.

They were very close to my ex-boyfriend, he was like a second son to them, for four years we went on so many trips together, we spent so many weeks together, all of us, we became family. Then they found out I cheated on him and even though they promised they support me and have my back and will stand beside me despite everything, I see it in their eyes that they haven’t forgiven me. And I understand that, I haven’t forgiven myself, what I did was fucked up and awful and part of me believes that this awful treatment I’m getting right now is karma. Because I don’t really think I deserve happiness right now after all I’ve done. And even though they are clearly supporting me, I know they don’t respect me as much as they did and I need to fight for them to trust me back.
