who are you when you're not performing

started with just wanting to draw Zeena without makeup + without her hair and nails done (I'm imagining she paints on the pink stripes on her horn too). then I wanted to draw Rouge in casual wear ... decided to unite both ideas under the theme of "neither of these characters are morning people." Rouge is a bat, and to me Zeena's "laziness" just makes her seem tired and miserable </3

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Zeena is 1000 times more fun when you put her next to the other girl characters because she's the only one of them who really is just a wretched little freak to her core with no redeeming qualities whatsoever. and I think that's so fun. so I wanted to draw a stack of Zeena-interacts-with-the-other-girlies scenarios. please imagine it's a movie montage. metal cover of Barbie Girl by Aqua playing in the background ✨✨✨✨
