Snively goes to check up on his insane uncle and we hear that in Eggman's ramblings, he brings up things that the original Dr. Robotnik had gone through. At the same time, it also implies that this Dr. Eggman (who was originally from another dimension) had gone through the exact same past.

Also oh crap, the insane doctor is released.

The Freedom Fighters and Chaotix don't do much but bounce off Sonic and get decked by Khan's lightning staff, but at least Antoine is able to fight back with his sword! About time we saw focused on Bunnie’s husband and the grief he went through...an issue later.

Oof, another misleading cover that dramatises what is going on in the main story. Its another thing comic books tend to do, but at least it hides the real threat of the Iron Queen possessing him from unaware readers?

Meanwhile, Knuckles and Espio end their standstill fight. It seems Espio had been told to get the Master Emerald and give the Iron Queen more power, but Espio deliberately fought Knuckles so that he would have conflictions and have a reason to not do it? I'm not too sure, Espio is much more enigmatic than usual as a character, which is good but it does sort of muddy the side story.

The orphans from earlier also sympathise with Monkey Khan due to him also losing his friends, providing good closure to when they were so mean to him for his actions earlier.

Sonic and controlled!Monkey Khan fight goes on for quite a while, all the more problematic since his protective crown broke.

Sonic is able to use a Power Ring to bring Monkey Khan back to normal!  The comic suddenly has one of those monologue boxes, but at least its just for this page.

The art here is bit messy, rather akin to Steven Butler’s stuff in #163 and such.
