If you're still doing prompts/head canons...& if you're not just tuck this one away till you got the time. Young Sterica; like Stiles is at the hospital with/for his mom who is doing some test stuff & Erica is there for epilepsy stuff. He finds her reading Batman comics, or vice-versa, and then fall into discussion and are adorable.
So I gave this a lot of thought, and this is what I've come up with:
Stiles has been spending a lot of time in the hospital with his mom. He knows she's getting sicker, knows that she probably doesn't have a lot of time left, but he loves being there, especially on the days where she knows he's real and not something the dementia has conjured up. It's hard, but she's his mom, you know? They don't get forever like he thought, and his dad is trying to grab all the overtime he can so that...after, he can stay at home with Stiles and, well, do whatever it is adults do when they're sad.
He's sitting in the hall - it's one of mom's bad days, so he's waiting until she falls asleep before he goes back in - when a little girl with blonde curls and dark circles around her eyes sits down next to him.
"Batman?"
Stiles frowns, looking her in the eye. "What's wrong with Batman?"
"Nothing," she shrugs. "Just that he's a big whiney baby in a leather suit."
"How - what - Batman is awesome." How dare she, Stiles thinks. Batman is the greatest superhero ever.
"My mom says Batman is a rich dude with a white savior complex."
"I –" Stiles gapes. "I have no idea what that means, but she's wrong."
She rolls her eyes and pulls the comic out of his lap, turning through the pages without giving them much of a glance. "He doesn't really do anything to help people though, does he? He wants revenge. For himself. Aren't heroes supposed to be all about the little people or something?"
"Why are you here anyway? Who are you?"
"Erica," she replies, closing the book and handing it back to Stiles. "I'm here because I'm sick."
"You don't look sick," he says.
Erica snorts. "Not right now, maybe. It just sort of happens."
Stiles swallows, looking down as he picks at the fraying edge of the cover. "My mom is sick."
"I'm sorry."
"Yeah, me too."
The silence stretches on for a few moments, both of them not really knowing where to go from there. It's not awkward, not like it could be, considering they just met. Stiles wishes Scott was here, though. He'd know how to talk to Erica. She's pretty and she likes comics and Stiles isn't used to that.
He doesn't get the chance to say anything else, because a tall woman with dark hair is standing at the end of the hall and calling Erica, telling her it's time to go. Erica sighs, looking put-upon, before jumping out of the chair and turning to leave.
"Hey Erica?" She turns to look at him, smiling. "Who's your favorite super hero?"
She grins then, a wicked glint in her eye. "Wouldn't you like to know?"
Erica leaves Stiles in his chair, mouth open wide, and he thinks he may be a little bit in love.
--
He never does see Erica again. His mom dies two weeks later, so he has no reason to go back to the hospital. He wonders if Erica is okay.
--
Stiles sees her again six years later - the Erica he met in that hospital, not the one who had been picked on and quiet for years because of her epilepsy, but the Erica with the wicked smile and more attitude than a kid should have had - walking down the hall in leopard print heels and a leather mini skirt. She looks confident, happy, and ready to take the world down in flames.
She stops in front of him, clearly expecting him to move out of her way, but all he does is smile. "Batman moves for no one."
It takes a moment, but eventually she smiles back. "You're such a shithead."
"Whatever, Catwoman."
Her smile is genuine, then, as she leans in just a little closer. "Thought you'd never figure it out."
"Yeah, well," he shrugs. "Batman does have some deductive reasoning. He's not all brawn, you know."
"Okay then," she replies, grabbing him by the collar of his shirt. "Deduce this."
It's the best kiss Stiles has ever had. He wants to do it forever.

"Would you... did you ever think about it with me?"
Stiles licks his lips, pulls himself up so he's leaning back against the arm of the sofa, Erica still above him. "Are we-- do you mean, sex?"

During his senior year, Stiles develops a crush on Erica. He ends up playing 7 minutes in heaven with her at a party, which is awesome, except she doesn't think that entitles Stiles to at least one date. Enter the bitter sting of rejection.

Deaton had warned them there’d be darkness around them – the very core of their being, Stiles thinks sometimes. It manifests strangely, in that for a while he does not notice it at all. Until one particularly crisp fall night, when Stiles falls asleep and dreams.
He dreams of Erica.

He made someone come.
And pass out. Apparently that's a thing, that he did. Fuck. "Fuck."
He sits, hard and confused on the edge of the toilet, trying and failing to hold whatever-his-name-is up as his weight knocks Stiles backwards into the toilet. He really hopes the last person in here flushed.
Fuck.
I actually do like Sterica.
ME TOO! I ship just about e v e r y t h i n g, honestly, but I am in particular down with this pairing.
I think Erica and Stiles have some common ground to bond on, particularly in their feelings of being overlooked and unwanted. Erica had to have it much worse, high school-wise, than Stiles did, but they both understand wanting things they can't have because as rest of the world is concerned they are fucking invisible (Stiles obviously having Scott, with Erica having no one?). And even though Stiles was on the wrong end of one of Erica's power trips, I think he understands why - and, IMO, would probably go on a bit of his own, were he to become a werewolf (I just had a mental picture of Stiles taking down a woodland animal, Twilight-style. brb need a break for all my laughs). Plus, the Batman thing was eminently adorable, I need nothing more than geeks being adorable today, bam, shipping it.
