I can't get invested in something when I feel like I've seen it before or can already guess how it ends, but then I feel AWFUL if it's well-written or generally looks awesome. I can't sit there and not think about it, or ignore it.

The thought process goes a little something like this:

This is so good, I have to start/finish it > But I don't need to > But it's so fun and interesting!! > I already know how the story will end > Maybe the ending will be unexpected > I've already caught on to the foreshadowing and context clues > CAN YOU JUST ENJOY THIS > and now I just feel bad

In conclusion, I'm like a young Jonathan Sims, just more annoying to myself than others. Otherwise, I'm kinda on the same level of stupid and pretentious and autistic.

#the magnus archives #tma was one of very few exceptions to this rule #which is why it holds a special place in my heart #also mag 81 is one of my favourite episodes SPECIFICALLY because I related to Jon's struggle with entertainment as a child #still do!!
